Claire's cooking was delicious. Homemade stew with dumplings. I had seconds AND thirds before Claire shot me a look that said, 'stop.' my phone chose that moment to ring.
It was Lori.
"Hey, Lori."
"You're booked into the honeymoon suite tomorrow night. It's the earliest I could get you in. It's also only one night, and you owe me sixteen grand. Just show them ID when you arrive."
Before I could thank her, she'd already hung up. I looked up at the expressions of the ladies before me.
"Well... I have a plan."
