This story was droll and fiendishly clever. However, the Epilogue was icing on the cake. A seriously comedic ending.

Without the Epilogue my score would have been far lower, as there would have been no satisfactory conclusion. With it it is a definite 5 stars.

The epilogue was necessary, thanks for adding it. It also occurs to me that some of the sacrifices must have been pregnant, so that would have kept the command crew's numbers up, as well.
