I recognized your description of Snake Alley from my time in Taipei. Excellent work evoking the shift between the daytime market and the seedy atmosphere of the night, not that I stayed out much past dark unless surrounded by friends. So exciting to be treated as an exotic beauty, while girls like me were a dime a dozen back at Cal State.
