Sorry to be "that guy", but, if they were born eleven months apart they'd only be the same age for one month each year between birthdays and would almost certainly be a year apart in school. If you were trying to avoid the "twins with a connection " trope you could have made more/better use of that gap and the impending separation at the end of this Summer.

Enjoyed the writing and the dialogue seemed natural so high marks for that, just need a bit more care with the details. Oh yes, should go without saying but well done keeping the names straight, a much too common unforced error on this site.

Ok, just started this story. The date on it says it is new. But I am 85% sure I read this a few years ago. Even the mention of Irish twins. Could this be a rewrite?

Such a well written story. I loved the slow build up with the detailed descriptions of what was happening between the two of them. Would love a chapter two, to see what happens the rest of the vacation, and maybe even into the school year.

Very good. Very glad I bookmarked it an came back to it. Seemed very real to me; if it was dust a story, the build-up would have been over the four nights their aunt was there and then the risk of being together when they shouldn't have been sharing a room.

With regards to that 'anonymous that guy' - 11 months is not impossible. Although lactation inhibits ovulation with most women for about three months after giving birth; there is variance. My aunt was born in May, my dad the following April. I don't know if anything ever happened between them - maybe that's why they always seemed to hate each other.
