I've read this saga from the first episode up to date since Christmas - Outstanding work and an absolute pleasure to read. Only one little niggle though - wasn't money/wages etc. phased out years before this in the Federation?

Hi Pawsnizzy, thanks for commenting, it's really greatly appreciated!

As for the money/wges issue: it's a bit of a grey area about how it works, though as far as I see it, for the majority of people within the Federation, no one goes without food, clothes, housing, education, medical aid, local transportation etc, because it's a post-scarcity society. So when people do work, it can be at jobs they like or are interested in, or they do it for the betterment of society and themselves.

So no one *has* to work, but they do get some sort of credit to be saved and used for non-essentials, like trips to Mars or non-replicated Saurian root beer... or for contraband like narcotics.

And individuals can still accumulate wealth. This is especially useful when trading with non-Federation parties who still operate under primitive economic systems... and for whom criminal organisations like the Orion Syndicate can exploit.

I have not stopped reading this series since I started in early January. I couldn't it down. The charades are so believable, lovable and despicable. It's amazing how you maintained the continuity of the story line, plus always bringing in fresh characters. Thank you an enjoyable reading experience.
