I wrote this some time ago, posted on another site... and that site has since died. I was able to find this copy via the "WayBackMachine", but I couldn't access the thread's 2nd page, which means I'm missing most of the next chapter - which is actually probably not a bad thing, as I'd written myself to a dead end.

Given the mostly enthusiastic replies so far, I'll certainly give this story some more thought, and if the inspiration strikes - expand it...
