Judith and Katie cheered and squealed the way little girls do. Joan and Charlie came to me and hugged me and shook my hand. "I think it would make all of us very happy, son. The only person in the family that would object, isn't here and it's not her business." Charlie said.

Joan had a tear on her cheek. "It's the best way to keep you in the family, Steven. I think that the two of you have been in love for a long time." She said and hugged me again.

Elizabeth finally made her way to us. She hugged us together and spoke softly. "You can forget that couch in the den. Tonight, you sleep with the woman you love."
