It was time for her to go so we walked in, she hugged the kids, and hugged Tom goodbye.
"Bye, kids...and bye Uncle Tom," she half-smirked.
Tom and I would be talking about this later.
I put my gifts away carefully then, fixed a quick salad for us whilst Tom had moved on to homework. I looked at the three of them, all together, and grinned.
We played a couple of card games and it was nearing eight. I gathered the kids and bathed them and got them ready for bed. Tom came in and read and tucked them all, lights out and another day was through!
Tom had the obligatory wine and tumbler ready.
"Now, first thing, my new lingerie...NO ripping, okay? I'm afraid to ask how much you spent on us today, so be careful. As and when?" I snickered.
"Absolutely, darling. One shall try and control oneself," he laughed.
"Does everyone in London talk like that?" I asked, sarcastically.
"You'd be surprised."
"So. Janet. I think she knows. She was dropping some pretty heavy hints about us. What should we do? Acknowledge it? Ignore it? I...I just have this feeling she knows. I don't know her that well to say f she'll keep it to herself though," I asked, perplexed.
"Tough one, Chrissie. I say we let it go. Why widen the circle any more than we have to? If she asks anymore, well, feel her out on her attitudes. That will tell you a lot. I say we just ignore it, for now at least."
"Makes sense. Fine. I was just wondering. Now, I want to thank you for spoiling Em. She was overwhelmed, darling. You're trying to seduce her, aren't you?" I laughed.
Tom laughed. "What makes you say that? You're the one who invited her along! Anyway, beautiful women should always be dressed in beautiful lingerie. If you prefer something more basic, I'll take you to M&S when we get to London!" he laughed.
"And what exactly is M&S?" I asked.
"You'll find out," he chuckled.
"We need to set up an early dinner with mom and dad. I'm thinking Wednesday? We'll be packing Thursday and busy with last-minute things. Should I call them and set it up? I can do it now. They should still be up."
"Yeah. Good idea. Is your passport up to date? I know how you Americans are about those things," he smiled.
"All up to date, okay? And not all Americans are isolationists!" I said, defending my country.
"Fine. Fine! Just checkin'. Give them a call and we can head off to bed."
I let Tom go and get ready whilst I called mom. She picked up on the second ring, which was good. We had a surprisingly civil chat, which pleased me no end. They were excited about seeing the kids on Wednesday. I said it would be very informal, more just to give them the rundown on where everything was etc. I told mom I had a schedule all written down for them, including phone numbers for the doctors, police, fire department and National Guard. She laughed, but wait 'til she saw the actual list! She asked about Tom and told her he was doing well, and work was being so supportive of his moving back. I think she was coming around, too.
I cleared up, turned out the lights and went to the bathroom, finally slipping in next to Tom. I naturally, found his chest.

Anonymous7 months agoIt's nice to see that several others who are following this story have seen Tom, Chrissie & Emily for what they are. Chrissie is a spoiled bisexual sex maniac who has turned her brother into a cuck. While, at the same time, Emily has been turned into a needy lesbian who has cheated on her husband for over 3 years with Chrissie! At the same time Emily & Chrissie are calling Emily's husband a cheating bastard all the while having a lesbian affair at the same time! If Tom had any balls he would have left Chrissie as soon as she told him that Emily had gone down on her in the ladies room at the auction! Chrissie tells Tom that she's his & that she's so in love with him while, at the same time, having sex with Emily. Tom says that he values fidelity above all else, but he's allowed Chrissie to cheat on him twice already! One time in the very same bed that Tom shares with Chrissie & another time right after he's made love to Chrissie on the roof of her workplace.
Anonymous9 months agoChrissie has become selfish, manipulative and unlikable. Not at all the same character that she was in the beginning. I don’t understand her need for her brother when she has this relationship with Emily. Their outrage towards Emily’s cheating husband is hypocritical.
Boo96almost 2 years agoAuthorFair point, Anon. I have lived in the UK for years, so have used British colloquialism and spellings instead of the US ones. You're right though, in the US they/you use 'If and when' whereas here, we/I use 'As and when'. Same thing, Almost! I'll need to pay a bit more attention to these things when I write in their POV. Thanks. Nothing wrong with nitpicking though, okay? Thanks and regards...
Anonymousalmost 2 years agoI’m loving the story, but there is one thing that keeps throwing me off. I have never heard anyone use the phrase “as and when”. Then I looked at your profile and I see that you’re from the UK. I can’t speak for the US as a whole but I’ve only ever heard the phrase “if and when”( which means the same from what I gather)and certainly never met anyone who uses it as frequently as these characters. I know Tom has lived in London, but the rest of the characters are in the States and have never been to London and they say it just as much. Anyway, like I said great story. I’m just being nitpicky.
Wargamerabout 2 years agoStupid me. I just realised what hypocrites they all are. Emily has been cheating on her husband for honks with Chrissie and she has the gall to be upset with him.
Chrissie and Tom are now facilitating Emily’s cheating on her husband, how fucked up is that.
Realising this l’ve realised just how silly this story has become. Cliche after cliche.
I’ll see thru to the end to see if you can save it, but l doubt you can. You know nothing about incest or how it works. In the end this is just another flowery story about cheaters and the manipulations they go thru to get what they want.
Your Tom character is now just a cuck in thrall to his sisters manipulations.
