Your story is both sad and engrossing. It's different in style from other stories I've read here. It's a bit repetitive, but that can happen when one's personal fixation/fetish drives the narrative. I notice it in my own writing. There's a surreal quality to Stubby's ongoing crisis. I don't believe a life could truly turn out this way. So it strikes me as a fantasy, and that is always a fruitful vein for a writer to mine.
