War Damage

In this series, but for the reference to credit cards, one might take the vignettes described by VOLESCAMPER in TALES OF WAR as a piece of historical fiction set in World War II in Eastern Europe. The intensity of the situations described in TAES OF WAR might pale when compared to those presented in the Second World War. Volescamper in No 2 and 3 of this series furnishes the victim's point of view. No 1 and 4 are told from the aggressor's point of view. The story is well told.

If there is one criticism I might have is that it is too easy to see the aggressor as ugly or misshapen. Often the real horror is that the fiend but for his atrocities is pathetically normal.
