I live in Thailand and most Thai people do not by any stretch of the imagination speak natural, flowing English. Most of those who do not work in tourist areas speak almost no English at all, although they will certainly nod their head if you ask them if they understand but then, this is Thailand where they speak Thai, so not speaking English is not a surprise nor is it anything that is negative towards Thai people. They are awesome... I don't have anything against the story other that the language thing and the error in stating that 15,000 THB equals about $45, because it does not. At todays rate it equals $417. Ia, pretty sure that he meant to say 1,500 THB, because that is also closer to what the rate for paid companionship would have been, although it varies drastically sometimes.
