Huh, in the end it was still self-defense. I dont get why she was convicted. Pimp was after her with the intent to harm her. She was rightfully afraid for her life. So how do they come up with first degree murder? And who was the eyewitness for the 'implicate an innocent third party claim'? Not a very good story if the supposed twist doesnt even work.

Dark and gritty, it was very good and well written but it went from dark to murky at the end. Angie set him up to take the fall, but when the pimp broke in “with his rage fully in tow,” she had cause to be afraid for her life and had the right to protect herself whether our hero was there or not. He stopped her with his comment but she was free at that point if she’d kept her mouth shut. Thanks for writing and participating in the Hammered event.

Nice quick plot. Wish you could have developed more of relationship of Maggie and the PI. Will check out some of your other stories.
