May not realize (realise), that there about 90 instances in the story when Anne is a better choice than "my wife". Never have know why authors use "my wife" so much unless it's from some poorly thought out attempt to insert dramatic tension in the story by playing up the fact that "the wife" is doing something naughty, illicit, etc. Doesn't work for me.
