What’s done is done, I think I can understand why you didn’t submit the Foreword with chapter 1, not wanting anything outside of the story to influence readers? So you’ll never know if it would have prevented harsh criticism from readers (myself included), I personally think it would have been better to give readers the advance. Still it’s not my story to tell.

Even if nothing else reaches through to you I wanted you to know that you are not alone. I’ve been there too and I understand. I wrote a long explanatory piece next and I’ve decided to cut it and send it to you privately. I think you’re a talented writer and now that the story has turned a corner I’m really looking forward to reading more.
