The story is a bomb, this has not come across here for a long time, bravo!

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

No offense to Hooked because he’s writing what he wants for people who enjoy it, but this story’s rating is much higher than it deserves. I’ll admit I skimmed it but it’s standard Hooked fare. The hero ends up living happily ever after with another woman that was already lined up so there’s not really any drama to be found.

That’s just what I like though. I like reading the heavy drama and emotions that arise from infidelity. This story seems to have struck a chord with others though so I’m glad folks are able to enjoy it.

Here I was hoping for a pregnancy, not cancer. Absence of kids makes the story even sadder.

ttt59ttt5912 months ago

Good story, touching although you could have let them have a few decades together or at least one child. I guess you were in a "tragic" mood when you penned this one. Thanks for the effort.

njlaurennjlauren12 months ago

Damn it you had me crying with this. Having faced their own cruel turns, they find each other, then they get hit by the final blow.

What a nice romantic story, with a sad ending and a few almost tears. Excellent writing. The title of the story says it all. There was some criticism when one of my grand daughters married a man a bit younger than her. I told her to ignore any neigh sayers and also told her the same as this story, the heart knows what the heart wants..........................

First of all, very well written. Second, I'm hoping for a sequel, where he finds a woman who would appreciate what he had to offer and gives him kids, since he sacrificed a chance to have kids by staying true to someone who he wasted most of his life loving (and yes, loving someone who doesn't love you is a waste, regardless of their quality as a person).

Damn - Double whammy for me. I have a co-worker on short term disability recovering from colon cancer. He was very lucky they caught it early enough he didn't need chemo. He is wearing the colostomy bag until it's healed. Similarly, another worker's wife passed away in her 40's to stomach cancer. She only lasted a few months from diagnosis until she passed. Touching story - 5*

Great story! 5 stars! Yeah, that’s a FIVE STAR story all the way.

It’s also a record setter in a way I haven’t seen anybody mention yet—at the time I write this there are 147 comments without even 1 really negative comment. Never thought I’d see the day in Loving Wives.

One last comment: I may not have cried when ‘Ole Yellow’ died, but this one had tears dripping.

Surely it must become the highest ever score on LW. cd

If she hadn’t bought into the brainwashing of the skittles people, they could’ve been together for most of her life, and had several children.

Also, the divorce rate is higher for same sex marriages, and, the domestic violence rate is highest among lesbian couples!

Ah hell man! Just go back to burning Traci will you. This was just so far above LW’s usual that I almost couldn’t finish it. As someone who lost a mother and sister to cancer, it hit me hard. You have always been on the top tier of Literotica authors, but this sad, beautiful story takes you to another level in my estimation .

5 stars! It's amazing how, as you get along in life, you realize how much time you have wasted and how little remains. I suppose that these two regretted not having come together sooner, and that they must have always had the possibility of a relapse in the back of their minds. The moral is to make the best of what time is left because realistically you never know how much time that may be. Still 30 odd years true friendship and 9 years happily wedded is a record not to be sneezed at.

Many thanks for a well written, moving story. My only slightly negative aspect is the premise laid out to all the beta type males who might read this: That they can exist in a one-way love arrangement as long as you hang on for years and years. It seldom works that way. The beta says "Walk all over me, control me, treat me like dirt... and I'll wait in the background for you like a good little simp male".

Yes, the story was beautiful and lasted most of HIS lifetime... but not hers!

"I knew you were assuming we would go to homecoming together," - Yes,he should have asked, but even she admits that she KNEW he was assuming they were going, so she should have checked with him before accepting a date with someone else. -

Yes she probably should have, but she (lame as it was) explained why she didn't.

\

Is it "Lauren" or "Loren?" - Lauren.

\

"Lauren said she seemed to be a bit flirty when we were out at the dance club the other night." - Why didn't he tell her that he had concerns about her flirting also?

Julian and Cat had discussed the flirting.

\

I figured the beginning was him leaving a grave site. I also expected them to get married then forher tohave a lesbian affair. Batted .500! -

Well of course you did, you wouldn't have it any other way.

Using the cruel cancer trope to engender sympathy from your readers does not become you. Neither does it add to your story.

Damn you !

You pierced my shell...

...yes, I cried at the first cancer diagnosis.

I'm living with a similar situation and have no real idea of how long she has, so I'm trying to make as many memories as we can.

"Well done" doesn't say enough... 5 stars.

Some day, you should find the thing inside you that brought this love story out and write the novel that must be hiding there to share with the world.

I am truly in awe of your talent...

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

One of my very favorite writers here. Thank you, Hooked!

mattenwmattenw12 months ago

Wow, that fitted like a glove. I openly admit that this story is one of those that hit me emotionally. Excellently told and savored the whole spectrum of human feelings. Who says that a decision about preferences, once made, cannot be reversed? It's a pity that only 5* are possible, but you really deserve it!

JustplainjeffJustplainjeff12 months ago

You son-of-a-bitch! Randi warned my wife about this story, but we read it anyway. This is now in our top 10 of all time. Anyone who knows the sports figures like you is tops in my book. Seldom in this category is there a story even close to this topic, as well done as you've put into words. Fantastic, albeit sad, story. 5 * doesn't do it justice.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

That's your comment, vhasst?

There is nothing new under the sun, I know that. There are countless BTB stories, cuck stories, RAAC stories that all share similar, if not identical elements.

Similarity to another story does not mean that the author did not have an idea, and thought it worth creating and sharing...

that he was inspired to do this work, and then to offer it for others to consume, love it or hate it.

This one story stands out among the many here, because it recounts a true friendship, true love, selflessness and a life long commitment to respect someone who is special to you, without him needing to be a spineless cuck.

He was not 'different' like Forest, which was probably the real thing that kept Jenny from taking Forest seriously.

Julian was a 'normal' guy, with normal opportunities, but he didn't let her disinterest embitter him. He stuck by his own feelings, morals, standards and beliefs and never betrayed anyone, and that... being the true meaning of selfless love... ended up opening her heart against her own natural inclinations such that she could fully return his love.

This was a fine, honest, heartfelt tale, and if you're that cynical that you can't be touched by it, I feel sorry for you.

Do me a favour, stop kicking your dog. If you learn to open up to the poor bitch's total dependence and devotion to you, you might find yourself rewarded with some unconditional love yourself, and like the Grinch, your heart may grow a size or two.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Hooked1957, you fucking asshole. I really don't appreciate having so much emotional involvement and tears forced from me. Damn you. That was the sweetest story I have ever seen on this site.

A Winner. Nice Job, Thanks.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Oorah

You did it all

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Once in a while a story comes along and I think, this is too pure for Literotica. Tx Tall Tales' "Charity Begins Next Door," Cat5's "Sales Team," Blackrandi1958's "Someone to Love Us" and "Vagabonds," Dreamcloud's "The Promise," Leapyearguy's "Aiding and Abetting." All of those are top of the charts for me, and I am adding this one to the list. You get all the gold stars and I wish I could give more.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

A nice romantic "Love Story" story. Might piss off some Lesbians, since Cat apparently wasn't really one, and the one she lived with ended up being a cheating deceitful cruel bitch. Guess I could feel sorry for the beard who wasted his life and his possible children on a woman who for most of his life didn't want him as a life partner. In fact he was her consolation prize since the woman she really loved kicked her to the curb. So in the end it was a pity marriage, with pity sex, and a pitiful ending. How much fun was that? Thanks for the effort.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Cheap shot.

Good advice for any aspiring story-teller; end your mediocre story with a tearjerker, and you'll easily raise it to 5/5.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

As with all great stories, it's the writing, stupid. 6/6

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

She reads like Jenny from Forrest Gump.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

I really didn't like this story. This guy wastes his life on someone who couldn't or wouldn't like him back, as she fucks myriads of others. Eventually, after suffering a betrayal of her own, she magically has an epiphany and all of a sudden loves him. Then she dies. Depressing and stupid.

GladstonGlieseGladstonGliese12 months ago

I'll probably make it through. But paused and considered not continuing after a confused 12 year old boy was made to apologize to the person who assaulted him by his own mother. Tired of this gynocentric crap. This mysticism around "not understanding the female of the species" needs to end too. That ended long ago. Freaking boomers, man.

prinnaveaprinnavea12 months ago

I liked the story, sad ending though. I can understand the concept of the very young first love idea, the one you remember the most. You have reached the top of the list authors to read, even before this story. 5/5 BR is second.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

Feels like such a waste of his life, and a downer overall.
