Great!

Will you continue?

It seems to hang in the air, lots of unfinished threads...

Still I loved it!

Hoping it will continue...

A very interesting beginning - and lots of unanswered questions for following up... hope to see more soon!

(More of what? I'll leave that up to you ;) )

Good one Bel.

Interesting story. Amusing characters and a nice twist at the end.

Gotta love those fiery redheads.

The ending seemed abrupt though.

Like Sir Walter Scott

Your style is very similar to the famous author, and that is not faint praise

The start of a grand adventure...

There's a lot contained in this one, short piece. I can see where it could easily develop into something longer and more involved. I found myself wanting to know more details but feel that would be impossible in the short amount of space allowed for a "short story". Good job working within the constraints of short fiction.

Very enjoyable

I'd love to read more of Cap'n Ian's adventures.

Scottish?

Liked the story but I must ask have you ever heard a Scottish person talk?

Reached out and grabed me!

Sounds like the ruins of the tower were more likely a fairy ring, and the captain spent time under the hill!
