Another avid fan here. I have to admit that I kind of wish that it was novel instead of a short story!

I was afraid Mary would be Amy's mother. I should have had more faith in you. I still expect Mary to show up again, but you didn't take the "easy" way out.

This chapter contains a lot of excellent situations and is fast paced. I can understand Jeff's nervousness, fears and uncertainties. He does not want to lose Amy. Will the truth about his past be too much for Amy or is she going to be grateful for the open communications with Jeff?
