"Thank you for your help. But I can manage just fine." Eavan said curtly, picking up the bucket and walking away to another corner of the room.
"Pleasure meeting you Eavan," the man said, with a wink, seemingly unphased by her rude behavior. "Maybe you're not as bad as everyone says."
Angerly, Eavan moved from task to task until she was brought her lunch. She ate in her chambers, silently pondering what rumors were being spread about her. The bread was stale and the vegetables she was given were bruised and unwashed. She scoffed at them, thinking of Arden's words. They were feeding him better than this, she thought bitterly, or else he'd never say those sorts of things.
