"No, we won't be calling off anything!" he growled angrily.

"Fine, forget I said anything, I'll just stay home and be the perfect cookie cutter Vitali wife and Knox can take me to my appointment," she said sadly. "I'm going to bed," she announced. She hated that she had hurt Matteo by threatening that, but she felt she couldn't take it back. She needed him to understand she wasn't happy being forced into a role and life she wasn't born to if it meant giving up everything and everyone she cared about except him.

"Don't go," he said. "I just hadn't realised how unhappy you were since returning home. Why haven't you told me any of this before now?"

"Because I always thought it was an option for me once we got settled in again. The first time I bring up wanting to do something for me, though, you shut me down. At least Ricco was coming up with solutions rather than just saying no to what I need," she said.

"I agreed to the car already!" he said defensively.

"You're not happy about it though, and were still trying to manoeuvre a way around letting me go out on my own," she accused. "Even Peri Donati drives herself around most days."

"The difference is that I am not in love with Peri Donati. If anything ever happened to you I'd never forgive myself," he gathered her into his arms and held her tightly. "I'm sorry, I've had so much going on I hadn't even thought about the fact you didn't have a studio here because I was building you one in the penthouse."

"I know, and I appreciate that, but I just want to do more than follow you and Ricco around every day. I need to have my own life, or I will lose me and become some manufactured Vitali Princess," she said into his chest. "I'm trying so hard to be what you and your family want, but you fell in love with the girl from Acacia Estates, and she has almost completely disappeared. I just need some space and time to find me again. I need to paint and be creative. You won't be disappointed, I promise. Trust me, please."

"Okay, but we will discuss our work commitments and link our calendars," he agreed grudgingly, hating what she was saying and that she felt like he was forcing her to be something she wasn't. "Can you talk to us before accepting another commission from Peri?"

"Yes, I can do that, but I won't be asking permission, even though I will negotiate terms. Now, I'm still going to bed," Cat said softly, and reached up a hand to the side of Matteo's face and kissed him before stepping out of his embrace. "You and Ricco can work out the details for tomorrow." She stood and turned to where Ricco sat and took the two steps toward him. "Thank you for being the voice of reason tonight," she bent and kissed him, not on the cheek but on the lips, and with some pressure as a first step toward building intimacy with him. She felt his surprise and drew back with a grin. "I'm sorry if you ever thought I cringed away from you," she said softly.

"She kissed me!" Ricco grinned at Matteo.

"I noticed," Matteo chuckled. "I also heard that she loves you, just in case you felt the need to remind me of that again."

"I love you too," Cat laughed, blowing Matteo a kiss. "Good night, gentlemen." She walked toward the bedroom.

Matteo

Why do you create strong man who are suffocating their partners? Is that something that appeals to people, a fetish or a niche?

Lucca's Comment

Ricco warned Lucca against mentioning the red room or that it was built because Cat wanted it. Lucca responded, "well, duh," but in his words that he wouldn't even insinuate that Cat was a slut.

Lucca's concern about the room was concern for Cat's happiness, that Cat would have to share Matt's attention with a kept. Lucca got back to back epiphanies, one about women and one about the future of his table.

Can't wait for more!

I discovered your story "The twelve tables" just a couple weeks ago and now I can't get enough of your writing! I've devoured your whole Bella series as well as catching up in this story after reading all of the Twelve Tables. I hope you write the first encounter between Cat, Matteo, and Ricco in detail!

One more

I don't understand why Ricco would allow the woman he loves and the next mother of the table to be called a slut.

Gosh

I'm not sure even how to respond to that Notime2, I could take your hand and maybe lead you through why I wrote that but this is just fiction and I would hate for anyone to think I am an expert who could teach about it. Everyone has their own way of living the lifestyle it has a million flavors as well as vanilla from time to time. People criticise my views on BDSM as much as agree with them. A teacher or guru I am not and would not like to be viewed that way because of my personal kinks and interests. This is a story not a how to manual. :)

Not liking that

Really happy with the chapter but extremely saddened and disappointed that you let Lucca use the word slut and Ricco did not stop him. With all the writing you've done and with your great commentary of SSC vs. Rack I really felt you would have came to a better defensive commentary. I'm surprised you didn't write Ricco saying that ...she's not a slut but a woman, a passionate loving woman, and in a safe secure relationship. Anyone lucky enough to be in that type of relationship and have someone feel that safe and open to explore their passion is lucky to be around that situation. We grew up with the Kept, those women made decisions, just like a woman that does not want to open up sexually has made the decision. We have our Kinks yet there are no negative titles for us, only positive roles. Yet a woman that is trusting would be so blatantly put down by a negative word by you. I feel that you might have learned all the wrong things about men, women, and love.

You've done so much for the community in your writing, you've given us such support and I feel that a great teaching moment was lost. I know it's not your job to hold the hand of everyone's, psyche but you've done a very good job of it so far.

All Good

Sorry for the confusion. The sigh was contentment with continued yuminess and all round excellence.

Cheers Rudi

So happy

It's been a rough few weeks for me after some very hard months and your stories give me the escape I need even if it's just for a few moments at a time. I am able to catch my breath and relax when I read your works.

I am so in love with Cat I loved Peri and hope they are able to have a true heart to heart. And maybe a little dirty secret sharing about her husbands/ Dom's lol

Thank you for another great story!!!

Gypsytramp

Gypsytramp, I think Vanessa has the spoiled brat syndrome we have seen from all the women who grow up in the tables. We have seen Nic, Emily, Carmen, Trista, and Hella who all think the world revolves around them because of how they are raised as princesses. Maryanne tried not to be that way, but she was so engrossed in her own world that she and Jacobi were selfish enough to expect him to live like a monk.

I liked that Cat finally stood up for herself. It seems like Matteo feels like because she did the trial, she’ll just roll over and say yes to anything now. She is too strong for that, and he will lose her to Ricco if he doesn’t wake up and start to understand her real needs, not just the ones that align with his.
