Click hereGasping, utterly spent, Aaren crashed down beside her on the bed. Margaery rose on unsteady limbs and lay her head on his chest, her auburn tresses tumbling down his torso as she listened to the thump of his heartbeat. Gradually it slowed, resuming an ordinary, regular rhythm.
"You should stay here tonight," Margaery murmured, brushing her hand down his thigh.
"M'lady, I have duties to finish," he replied softly.
"I will leave my door unlocked," she told him. "Come back once you are done."
"As m'lady wishes," he smiled.
Aaren lay there a while longer, but Margaery didn't notice him leave. By the time he had dressed and closed the door behind him, she had already sunk into a deep sleep.
The classification of this story could just as easily have been Fantasy, but that said, this chapter is the best one yet (but not a stand-alone story!). The reader is able to discern a gradual unfolding of the plot, carefully paced, with a beautifully written if rather too short love scene as the chapter comes to an end. Five stars.
