conflicting emotions

Conflicting emotions are highlighted in this chapter, where the heroine meets her lover's wife. Plot and character development are what this chapter emphasizes. The love scene is notably briefer here than in some of the other chapters, once again showing that this author is very careful in how the material is used, and to what extent. Riveting reading, outstanding writing.
