Thanks for the comment. "Mary" is arguably a poor name for a Muslim, however not all Muslim people have typical Muslim names. In retrospect, I wish I'd gone with something like Fatih or Soheila. Mary actually isn't a strict Muslim, but she identifies as a Muslim, and has a bunch of religious baggage that inhibits her from experimenting. I will develop this context more into the story so that it addresses your concern.
