So

So Jerry gets first prize and no punishment and Brian accepts like a wimp.At the time of the disclosure he didn't know he would end up with Chris.A real man would have put his army training to good use.

Interesting read; 5-Star all the way

Not at all what i was expecting but our hero handled the multiple 'situations' about as well as could be expected. Please ignore the trolls and continue to write and share - thanks.

Interesting Situation But Seriously Flawed Ending

I strongly disagree with allowing Lois and Jerry anywhere near the children or the family.

1-Betty should be separated from the women who didn't love her enough to care for her when she was her child. And she gave her up for adoption at 5 years old when she learned Betty wasn't her biological daughter.! She will be an impediment as Christine tries to establish herself as Betty's true and only loving mother.

2-Lois is a threat to Jackie. Being her biological mother, Lois may, over time, attempt to have more influence in her life. Additionally, Betty will feel betrayed if Lois, who acted as her mother for 5 years, shows favoritism toward Jackie.

3-Having Lois or Jerry around frequently can only serve to remind Brian of the deceit, disrespect and sham associated with his marriage to Lois and what a low life Jerry is. The best situation for him is a complete severance of all communication with both of them.

4-The girls should not be exposed to the likes of both Jerry and Lois, two totally deceitful, lying, utterly selfish people. They are role models for everything that Chris and Brian would not want their children to become.

The author exhibits a utter lack of understanding of human relations by ending the story with Auntie Lois and Uncle Jerry being part of Brian's family.

Don't write about what you don't know

Nothing in the beginning of this story is grounded in reality. First, bad 'medical', then bad law and I stopped reading.

There is google, you don't need to make up malarkey.

Interesting

Passed over this story at first due to the low rating, but then I remembered those don't mean everything and gave it this a read. I didn't really like it, but it was an interesting read.

And i feel generous.

Sorry the story doesnt make sense to me. I get the anger, betrayal and sense of loss of Brian, im somewhat the fact that loose his daugther "twice" but the whole legal debacle doesnt make any sense like many reviewers point before, yes the biological parents have rights, but also the "foster" parents specially when this whole debacle was the result of a disgruntled employed, that without say that each child have its own represantive that must figth for the wellbeing of the girls, the end was beyond of any posibility. Jerrey and Lois are a pair of selfish individuals, one of them put her own daugther up to adoption almost the same day in which she got... what a bitch.

Delightful

I enjoyed reading your story. It was different from most and had meaning in its telling. It is my first reading of your stories and I will check out the others. Thank you.

Talk about a paradoxical twist of fate. Pretty cool tale.

Excellent Story

The problem is that his behaviour does not fit that of most people. They feel that violence and hate are a really necessary part of everyday living. I imagine that this will score poorly since it does not stroke people's prejudices.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
idk

strong male and female character, almost impossibly so.

these two cheaters gave up their rights to be doting parents, and even friendly aunt/uncle with their disrespect/deceit. They'd only cause hurt to the children with the truth and heartace to the main fem/male couple as a constant reminder of their lying and selfish disregard of others.

Bad Science

You lost me almost immediately. If a woman with type "O" blood conceives with a man with type "B" blood she has a 75% chance of having a type "B" child (50% if he's b/o and 100% if he's b/b). I've known this since I was 7 but they teach it in 10th grade biology. A little fact checking please.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Nope

I don't see a guy having a relationship, sharing his family, with a woman that cheated on him their entire marriage. Definitely not with the masters she cheated with either.

Only one question

Why would he let Lois and Jerry back into his life? It beggars belief.

My thoughts

I liked this story when it was first posted.

I liked this story the second time it was posted

I will like this story when I reread it at some point in the future.

Were there things wrong with this story? My answer there is always something wrong in every story, how big of a deal someone wants to make of it is all on the commenters. BaMuoiBa you keep writing and I'll keep reading.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Time has a way of bringing payment due.

Men age like wine, women age like cheese. Jerry is a selfish shallow unethical bastard, who took Lois back because she is a selfish shallow soulless bitch. Lois will age quickly and poorly, as evil people tend to do. Jerry will be fucking around on Lois before she hits 50, probably before she hits 40. Lois will spend her middle life on to her death in guilt and regret. She will pour whatever resources and energy she can manage into Jackie's life, but it will never be enough. Lois will hate herself for abandoning Brian, then hate herself for abandoning Jackie, then hate herself for reconnecting with the complete asshole who is Jerry. She will start drinking again until she kills herself, on purpose or by accident. Jackie will appreciate the inheritance, but she won't give a second thought to the woman who abandoned her. Good riddance.

Same story as before

I started reading this and realized that I had already read it and was hoping that a repost would have had a different ending.

But, nope the same story of a cheating bitch becoming the "loving aunt".

Cheating two days before the marriage is one thing but, continuing to cheat the entire marriage was just too much for me. I don't see the husband wanting to share any time with a cheating ex and including "uncle Jerry" in their family life is way too much. Will Jerry be hitting on Chris next?

1/3 star...

for repost; 1/3 star for not knowing blood types; 1/3 star for not beating the living fuck out of red riding hood. That's a solid 1* Try again.

Really, a repost

If I've read a reposted story before I automatically deducted 1*; especially if there is no big changes/ revisions noted.

Absolutely no erotic content

I don't care what everyone else is getting riled up about but this story is not an erotic story.

re: Blood Type

Specifically, "Unless and until they resolve things, Betty is their daughter! The other parents aren't being asked to relinquish custody of THEIR daughter, are they?"

<P>

Agreed. There have been several cases of babies switched at birth. If anything, it's often hard for them to be switched back because of the disruption to the children. All they know is that they are being taken away from the only parents they know, and often the courts decide keeping that continuity for the children is the paramount concern.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
One of the most important things when writing is to know what you are doing.

As at least one other commenter has noted, a parent with Type O blood can have a child who is Type A, Type B, or Type O depending on what the blood type of the other parent is. There are two types of Type A or Type B blood--A/A in which each parent is Type A or A/O in which one parent is Type A and the other is Type O. The same is true for B/B and B/O. I have a Masters in Biology, but I'll bet anyone can learn this through Google. It is a huge mistake to write about things you know noting about. You lost me as soon as I read the paragraph about the blood types. 1* for laziness.

2 Stars because

I don’t understand why authors repost older stories... This was a good story, but other than to try to get more ‘new’ votes without the effort of a new story, it makes no sense to repost. Nothing significant was added to warrant the reposting.

sbrooks103xsbrooks103xabout 6 years ago
Blood Type

The doctor is wrong. A mother Type O CAN have a child Type B IF the father is Type B or AB. Since he's Type A, HE can't be her father, but his wife can certainly be her mother!

True, he doesn't own her, but she doesn't own HIM either, and if he doesn't want her after she's been with someone else, that's his choice.

Unless and until they resolve things, Betty is their daughter! The other parents aren't being asked to relinquish custody of THEIR daughter, are they?

I would have insisted on answers for the speed dial and kisses!

Again, why is the other couple allowed to keep the child that they think is their daughter?

I KNEW that Chris was going to be the "other" mother!

I don't know, I don't think I could be that cordial with Lois, and ESPECIALLY Jerry!

Not sure I could....

Glad things turned out well for Jerry. Not sure I could have tolerated being around a cheating slut like Lois. Those many years of lies and deceit would be tough to handle let alone actually having to again be in her presence. Why would anyone want to be around a person like that? Both Lois and her fb are just not very nice people. They are shallow and selfish. I wouldn't want the kids to be around them and I certainly would not want to be anywhere near either one of those lying, cheating jerks.

They both got off lucky. Jerry just moved on. No revenge on either the slit or her lover. Maybe that's closer to real life, I don't know. But again, why would you spend any time around them. That's just going a bit far. Maybe, maybe if enough time had passed, as in several years. But this was just way too soon after getting his life back together with Chris and the girls for him to be o.k. with the slut and her fb spending time with them.

Not a bad story, just have a hard time believing a guy would be alright with how it ended.

Someone screwed up at literoc reposting this previously posted story

Who reposted?....?

Rw43Rw43about 6 years ago
Well, I guess I'm late to the party because I didn't know it was a repost

So at least my comment is original. For what little it's worth.

Rare but healthy to find a cheating story that isn't overloaded with anger or culminating with vilifying payback. I hope I'm not alone--unfortunately, I'm sure I'll be in the minority--in being happy with your conclusion.

After all, your protagonist is happy. He clearly loved little Betty more than her 'mom', so why should a reader be unsatisfied if he gets both Betty and her real mom? Because Lois didn't suffer enough? Please. She was as faithful to her first husband Jerry as he would let her be. Sometimes in life we all serve as the Parenthesis. It was Brian's turn. But I'm glad this time he gets to finish out the sentence with the family he loves.

I'm afraid I can only go 4 stars though, because i don't see how you can own 5 successful restaurants in a town so small that everyone is as interactive as portrayed in this story. I also thought Brian should have been the grown up when he lost Betty--not Lois, that was fine--because she lost her daddy's love through no fault of her own (even though that might have spoiled the reunion, huh).

All in all, you navigated very well that narrow middle ground where cheaters don't get to be as happy as the saints they wronged but they do get to stay alive. Well done. Oh, hang it, let's go the full 5*.

mature_neophytemature_neophyteabout 6 years ago
Good story

I liked the completely improbable twists and turns, but you clearly don't know a lot about blood group inheritence. Purely on blood groups it is entirely possible for Lois to be the mother of Betty if the father was blood group B. DNA results of course are much more specific and would indeed be able to positively assign parenthood, but the initial blood groups on the day of Betty's accident only show that Brian was not the biological father. This is a situation that occurs not infrequently in hospitals when families are tested and in many cases the results are likely to be overlooked as "none of our business" as long as the child/children are seen to be in a caring environment and no evidence of abuse or wrong doing is suspected.

This is not new

What is with the reposting of the same story form a few weeks ago?

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Why was this posted again?

It's the same story. No apparent changes. It's still a screwed up situation. Probably harder on the kids than anyone else. The ending was, once again, not satisfactory.

The repost didn’t score any higher this time around for me .

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Great idea! Posting this a second time

seems to have improved your score. I suggest you keep posting it until the cows come home, or it achieves 'hot' status. Is this a form of a chain story where the same link is posted continuously? I know Todd172, qhml1, and Oshaw will have something a bit more original in their chain story. Great work and full marks. 5 *s from me on this one every time you post it!
