I gave him a hug and a big kiss. "Thank you"

Then I looked at Tom standing with Harry and my daughters, they were just staring at me and Rick.

'No, he couldn't have planned it all, could he have?'

I’m guess it it a reference to Mattion Morrison!

Better known by his stage name.

If you don’t know it, look it up.

It was a good tight story, but it felt like you wanted to throw in a bunch of extraneous elements that didn’t fit and then it kind of fell apart towards the end. I’m good with a RAAC ending, especially after the cheater has learned their lesson, but Tom’s call to her didn’t line up with a guy who left for months with no contact and beat up her lover. I think he might have offered a chance for reconciliation under new conditions, but not have blurted out that she could see other men. Why would he say that after the guy was beaten up twice and being divorced from his wife?

Marion was John Wayne's real 1st name.

From the way you wrote the MC. He wouldn't have taken her back. According to her they didn't have sex, so what. She had a long term emotional affair. She actions were cruel and evil towards someone that she "says" she loves.

An unwarranted RAAC story always gets 1 star from me. No man on earth with any self worth at all would allow that woman back in his life. It's your story to tell but I am entitled to my opinion.

"Kelly, it's Tom, I miss you, you can fuck anyone you want." I don't think Tom's character would ever say this.

Marion was the name of the British band who produced the 1995 song Let's All Go Together.

I figure that Marion was either a reference to John Wayne or to Marion Cobretti (the full name of Stallone's character in the movie Cobra)

How is it so hard to miss that you go to a diner to have dinner, not the other way around.

Great story. Perfect way to handle the idiot wife. I wouldn’t have even given her the kiss before she was gone.

If you're the teacher (teach her),

don't touch the student.

Find someone more mature.

Someone you can respect.

3 out of 5 from me.

I don't understand why Brain gets beaten half to death but his wife gets a second chance. Cheating usually takes two people. One who initiates it and one who participates. So why is his guilt greater than hers? She is a married woman with two grown daughters, so you should expect better from her.
