Loved the story 5/5, but I can't get my head around the twist. Why would the husband make her the sole beneficiary if he didn't at least love/care for her. At the beginning, when he was ready to sacrifice his wife, that part doesn't make sense with making her the sole beneficiary. Also, what the husband did was literally asking for a death sentence here - the guy is really dumb.

Loved it and especially your writing style and command of the language. The "twist" at the end was , no pun intended, like "icing on the cake", figuratively speaking.
