Lovely

A lovely little story, Julie, with a very touching conclusion. The attitudes of so many that you describe show that very often changing the law is easier than changing people. It was much the same in this country when male homosexuality was decriminalised in the late 1960s---while the law changed for the better, people's attitudes towards gay men could still be very unpleasant. On a happier note, your description of Holi leant a great deal of colour (pun may be intended) to the narrative. Five stars for the enjoyment.
