He definitely fucked up having lunch frequently with a very attractive woman, but Gina and her family are bonkers insane crazy. He's going to have to live a life watching every little thing he does or risk pissing off princess Gina which would result in him 'falling' into the sea with weights tied to his ankles.

Why would anyone marry into this?

Also, didn’t anyone explain to the MC when he was 12 that men and women aren’t friends? He was eating, drinking, and spending time with another woman. The dumbass was dating, and didn’t even realize it! Of course Miss Huge Tracts of Land thought she could get him!

The one thing I respect above anything else is clear, honest communication.... even if it does come in the form of a 250lb, steak eating gorilla.

Should have developed a clever plan to leave that family. Gina was a crazy woman and her family and friends weren't far behind. Better to get out early than disappear later.

I liked the way this story fleshed out and the message (way it was delivered) I suspect if you marry into this type of relationship you should be hyper sensitive to the signs you give off. If he really loves Gina and I think he does, he should be smart enough not to fall for ego driven icing. TFS

3.5 stars. On one hand, it was a really good story, funny, with some really valid and good ideas in an original wrapper.

On the other hand, first, a dude shouldn't have to be told not to have one on one repeated meals with a woman he's not married to. ESPECIALLY since the MC admitted in his head she was flirting with him.

Second, the fact that his wife doesn't respect him, and doesn't care about his feelings whatsoever, and he is clearly at LEAST #2 in her priorities (likely #3 after "Daddy"), means she's a shit wife who doesn't really love him.

Both those things kind of soured me on the married couple.

Say what you will about his politics, but Mike Pence's policy of not eating alone with a woman or attending an event where alcohol is being served unless his wife is present, especially if the wife follows suit, would forestall a whoooole lot of marital discord.
