But Miguel wasn't gonna let that bother him. As soon as Christian passed, he entered his car and drove off quickly.

***

Christian had come to Sumitria for something really important, something involving his family and to some degree something involving his career. He had arrived early the previous day and was about to go back to the capital because he still had a lot of things to do back in the capital. He was just with an old friend, an inspector and both of them were just going to have some coffee at the coffee shop. Man. He couldn't even wait to go back to the capital.

Christian had a lot of things to do, something that was gonna help him out and ensure his survival. He was now ready to do something that he had been fighting for a really long time. It was the reason why he couldn't wait to go back.

***

Miguel quickly dialed Brian's number and called him up. He was still on the road and he was driving but he just wanted to check up on Brian. He hadn't spoken to the guy in a really long time or rather hours.

"Hey!" Brian said happily on the other end. "You have finally decided to call me."

"Yeah," Miguel sighed. "How are you doing?"

"Hmm, I am fine but I am really missing your presence." He sighed. "How did your meeting go?"

Miguel remained silent for a while and then remembered what he had just been through back there with the Antonio guy. It just made him mad and he gripped the driving wheel harder as his breaths became harsh.

"The bastard is just the same as he was three years ago." He said harshly without realizing what he had just said. "He hasn't changed at all."

"What?" Brian got up from the couch, breathing harshly. "What did you just say?"

"What?" Miguel came back to reality. "What was that?"

"You just said the bastard is still the same as he was three years ago." He sounded really worried. In fact, he was really worried. "Who did you go to see?"

Miguel hit his head when he realized what he had just done. In anger and frustration he had just told Brian what he had come to do at that place.

"I didn't mean that. I actually..."

"No! I heard it all." Brian said. "Have you..."

"Yes!" Miguel couldn't lie anymore. "I came to see one of the bastards that had raped me three years ago. I have identified one of the men that ruined my life."

"Please." Brian gasped. "Come home already."

"Yeah, I am really sorry. It's just that I didn't want to be worried about anything and that's why I... I couldn't tell you anything that had happened. Please."

"Just come home." Brian said. "I don't want you to get hurt anymore, okay. We will talk about this and..."

"I don't wanna talk about this." Miguel sighed. "Plus, there is another problem."

"What?"

"I saw Christian Palmer in Sumitria. I don't know what he is doing and that guy is really persistent and nosy."

"What?" Brian gasped. He couldn't mask his fear. "Just come home."

"Fine!" Miguel sighed. "I will be going back to the airport. I will see you soon."

"Okay."

Miguel cut the call and put the phone down. Then he concentrated on his driving rather than the things that were bothering him terribly. He was busy driving to the airport because he didn't wanna be at that place anymore, the place that had more painful things for him.

Miguel continued driving for a few minutes. He was still driving when he looked out the window and saw a beach. He acted as if he was sick and then carelessly parked his car on the road. He took a deep breath and then got out of the car without locking his door. He left it wide open and started walking towards the beach.

As Miguel drew near, lot's of memories, painful memories came back to him. They were hurting him so much that he held his chest as tears poured down his face.

YEARS AGO

*

"Hey, dad..." Little Miguel shouted, rushing to his father. "I am coming."

Miguel's father smiled brightly and then knelt down on the sand, opening his arms widely. Miguel chuckled and then run into those angelic and powerful arms. And when his father wrapped those gorgeous arms around him, he closed his eyes and held on to his father tightly. He was just ten years old. He had been coming to that beach with his parents ever since he was really young and he knew everything about it.

That beach wasn't as crowded as the others. In fact, there was usually no one found there and hence the reason why it was special to Miguel and his parents. It was where Miguel had learnt how to swim when he was really very young. He called it his beach.

"I love you, daddy." Miguel said in his sweet little voice.

"I love you too, son." His father kissed him on the cheeks. "I will always protect you, my love. Just like you've run into my arms, these arms shall be your refuge. You can run into them anytime you want and I will always be there for you."

"Promise, daddy." Miguel asked.

"Yes, son I will always be here." He promised. "I will never ever leave you alone, my love."

Miguel's father kissed his cheeks hard and then raised him high in the air. He started running with him in his arms and then laughed together with him. They were both really happy and they knew that they were gonna be forever or it was what Miguel felt at that time. He had no idea things would go bad one day.

"Hey!" Miguel's mother chuckled. "Father and son, you are leaving me out here."

"Well! It's because this is a father son moment." He put Miguel down. "We are just having a wonderful time together with my heir. He is going to be a really rich boy and I will be proud of him."

Miguel's mother smiled brightly. She was a really beautiful woman and Miguel loved her so much. His parents were the best things that had ever happened to him and his only wish was to spend his entire life with them. He just wanted them to live with each other forever.

"Okay." She chuckled, raising her hands in the air as if she was surrendering. "I will go and set the food. When I come back, I expect you two to be done with the father son bonding."

"Yes!" Miguel's father shook his head. "Don't worry about anything, honey."

Miguel's mother left and his father took him in his arms once again. He sat on the sand and made sure that Miguel sat on his lap.

"Do you know what, son?"

"What is it, dad?"

"Hmm," His father chuckled. "You are a really special boy because one day, you are gonna inherit all our wealth. You are going to be really rich."

"Really, daddy?" Miguel was more than happy.

"Yes!" He rubbed in Miguel's hair. "All that I have shall be transferred into your name. You are gonna own everything that I have and..."

"Will you and mommy be with me, daddy?" Miguel asked, looking into his handsome father's eyes. "Will you be there with me?"

Miguel's father smiled brightly, planting a soft kiss on his sweet cheeks. Then he rubbed on them and ruffled his hair.

"Of course, son. Your mother and I shall always be here to love you and protect you."

"Do you promise never to leave me alone?"

"Of course," Miguel heard his mother's voice right behind. He moved his eyes and saw her standing right behind them with a happy smile. "We will always be here. Nothing will ever take us away from you. We will be together and we will be coming to this beach to be happy and play the whole day. The three of us shall always be happy."

"Thank you so much, mom. I love you."

She smiled brightly and then took him from his father. "I love you too." She kissed him and chuckled happily. "It's time for three of us to have our food before it gets cold. Your beach will always be here to wait for you."

Miguel smiled and kissed his mother. The three of them went away happily to have their food. They were a really happy family.

PRESENT DAY

*

Miguel was really sad and helpless. All the moments he had shared with his parents came back to him. That had been the last time they had come to that beach before they moved to the capital. Those moments had been wonderful but they caused nothing but pain to Miguel. It was as if a knife was being driven into his heart.

"Daddy." He cried.

Miguel had never missed his parents the way he felt at that time. His heart was racing beyond normal... his breaths were harsh... his body vibrated in pain and his sobs were starting to get constant. He couldn't control himself again. He had been planning to spend his entire life with his parents only for them to be killed by some psycho. It was really painful.

"You should have been there for me or you should have taken you with me." He said with a deep sigh. "You promised."

The waves were really high that day. The cool breeze was blowing his hair back and his hat came off as soon as it did. The feel of air in his hair was somehow comforting but the pain was worsening. He just didn't know what to do. Just like that place had ever been, there was no one else at that beach. It was just empty and Miguel loved it.

"This beach will always be yours." His father's voice rang through his head. "We are all gonna be playing on it and..."

"Can I build a house here, daddy?"

"Of course, honey." His mother's voice rang through his head. "It is your beach and you can build a beach house here anytime you want."

"Yeah..." He shouted, running around the beach. "I will build a big mansion and all of us shall live in it."

Miguel closed his eyes as tears started coming out. He cried even more and sobbed. He couldn't believe he was in so much pain. That had been the most painful moment ever. Miguel slowly opened his eyes as more tears came out.

He took a deep breath and then started moving into the sea. He was going deeper and deeper and he could feel the water going up his body. The waves were coming stronger but he kept on going there because he only had one thing in his mind.

***

Christian was driving on the road and he was really happy. He was going back to the airport so that he could back to his home to finally do what he had been dying to do in the last few days. He was gonna gather his courage and he was gonna say what was in his mind and heart.

Christian had a bright smile on his face and he was listening to "One call away" by Charlie Puth. He was really driven into the music and was just concentrating on his driving. Suddenly, his car started jerking and then it broke down. He had no idea what the hell was wrong.

"What now?" He said angrily. "What the fuck is wrong with this car?"

Christian unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car. He wanted to check what was wrong with his car but when he was about to start checking, he saw a car carelessly parked near him and he just got really curious.

"Who could have left their car like this?" He wondered, looking all around. "And why the hell would they leave their car parked like this? It is really..."

Christian took a deep sigh and then closed his door, moving towards the car. His heart was racing and he just couldn't control it. His breaths were a little harsh. He had no idea why he felt scared. It was as if something wrong was going on.

Christian moved past the car and then started heading towards the beach. As soon as he looked in the direction of the beach, he saw something that really scared him. His heart started pounding and his breaths became really harsh. His eyes widened and his mouth gaped.

There was someone dressed in a yellow shirt and with really long dark hair. He was moving deeper into the sea and it seemed as if he was ready to end it all. Seeing him, Christian got really scared and he had no idea why. He couldn't see his face and he was sure he didn't know but he somehow got really scared. His heart was really pounding.

Seeing the man going deeper, Christian took his pace and ran as fast as he could to the beach. In no time at all, he was already standing near the shore, still looking at the man that was going deeper and deeper into the sea.

"Hey!" He shouted at the top of his voice, waving his hands. "What are you doing? Sir!"

But it seemed like the man was deaf to his calls. There was only one thing left to do and he had to do it. He quickly removed his shoes and ran as fast as he could. He went diving into the ocean and then used his wonderful skills at swimming. He was a really fast and brilliant swimmer thanks to those swimming classes he had taken in high school.

It wasn't long before Christian reached the man that was still going into the sea. He managed to catch up with him and then quickly wrapped both his arms around him without even seeing who he was. Miguel on the other hand got surprised when he felt someone holding him.

He quickly moved his eyes and got surprised when he saw it was Christian. He couldn't do anything else rather than allow him to do what he wanted. He was a little pissed but he couldn't do anything.

Christian on the other hand swum together with the man who he hadn't seen the face. He managed to bring him to the shore and that was when he got the surprise of his life. His fear increased and he looked at Miguel with wide eyes. His heart started racing.

Both of them were panting for air and they were breathing heavily.

"Are you alright?" Christian asked with concern.

Miguel rolled his eyes, trying to catch his breath. "I wasn't trying to drown myself." He said harshly. "How can you even think that I would do something so stupid?"

Miguel shook his head, still trying to recover from his shock. "All I saw was a man drowning, fully dressed. Anyone else would have thought the same. I wouldn't have thought it was you."

"Why did you stop driving?" Miguel sounded a little pissed. In fact, he was really pissed after the experience. "You can't just stop and save those that don't need help."

"No! Hold on." Christian chuckled nervously. "It was a coincidence. I blew a tire and happened to come across a poorly parked car with its door open. I assume it's yours."

Miguel took a sigh. "Well! If that's it then I will send you a cheque tomorrow. Now go and leave me alone."

"What?" Christian slightly closed his eyes. "Who is talking about damages here? I can't go and leave you like this."

Christian looked at Miguel and man he couldn't get his eyes off that sexy wet body. He was looking so inviting and so deliciously beautiful. He couldn't believe he was doing that. Miguel on the other hand took the parts of his shirt and covered himself up when he saw the way Christian was looking at him. It was irritating.

"Don't look at me." He said harshly, getting Christian back to reality. "And leave me alone now. Get out of here."

Christian took another look at Miguel and saw how he was looking like. He shook his head and then unbuttoned his shirt. He then took it off, exposing his wonderful muscular chest. It was really lovely and magnificent.

He handed over his shirt and Miguel furiously grabbed it from him, still looking at him angrily.

"Now will you explain to me what you are doing here? Why did you come to Sumitria?" Christian asked in a curious tone.

"I am a businessman so isn't it obvious that I came here for business?" He said hoarsely. "I got into the water because I felt like it. You should know by now that I do whatever it is that I want."

"That's more than clear to me." Christian argued. "You did whatever you want without even weighing the consequences. That's why you left your car parked like that. You could have caused a really serious accident."

"The only accident was crossing paths with you." He said in a really serious tone.

Christian put his hand above his hip and chuckled teasingly. He then looked at the sexy young man, shaking his head. Then he started getting closer to him as if trying to grab his waist when he was actually teasing him. He wanted to see his reaction.

"Why are you always so defensive?" He asked. He felt he still had a lot to know about Miguel.

"Do not come closer." He warned, taking a few steps back. Then he started shaking and he had no idea why. "Don't come closer to me. Stay back!"

"You are shaking."

Christian tried to touch Miguel but Miguel slapped his hand.

"Don't touch me. Check yourself, Mr. Artist." He warned. "I am shaking because I am cold, not because I am afraid of you. I fear no man." He lied. He was really scared because Christian seemed scary at that particular time.

"Why are you like this?" Christian asked in a really serious tone. "Why do you hate us so much?"

"Don't think too highly of yourself." He chuckled bitterly. "I don't hate you."

"I am not talking about me." Christian slightly raised his voice. "I am referring to all men. I have been noticing you. Ever since I met you, you only refer to us with disdain. That's why you are so interested in organizations and foundations that deal with abused men and women, especially those that have been raped. Did the same thing happen to you?"

Miguel had never been so angry in his life before. He couldn't believe he had just heard that question from Christian's lips. How dare he ask such a stupid question? He was really pissed.

Christian's question took him back to three years ago when...

"You are a really sweet boy." He heard one of his rapists voice.

Miguel couldn't do anything rather than stare at Christian's face.

The two guys just stood like that, staring into each other's eyes. Christian couldn't believe he was actually being drawn into Miguel's eyes. It was like he was hypnotized or something. He couldn't stop staring into those beautiful eyes.

Miguel on the other hand got really irritated. He couldn't do anything but tear his eyes away and look the other way. With a groan, Miguel took a quick turn and started moving away but he got surprised when Christian gripped his arm and pulled him back.

"You can't run off just like that." Christian said in a really serious tone.

"Let me go!" Miguel furiously released his arm. "I don't want anything from you, nothing!" He snarled.

Miguel furiously handed over the shirt to Christian and grunted. He was just so mad and Christian saw it. Miguel was no longer covered. His chest was exposed and he looked sexy as hell. For Christian, Miguel's reaction was really so defensive.

"You are right." He gave a gloomy sigh. "I didn't mean to ask something so private. I am sorry if I offended you."

Miguel couldn't believe Christian was actually apologizing to him. It was really surprising.

Looking into Christian's face, Miguel burst into laughter, shaking his head. "You didn't offend me, Mr. Artist. Your ridiculous question rather made me laugh. Look at me very well. Do I strike you as a helpless man?" He pointed at himself. "Do you think I'd let a man rape me, really?"

Christian shook his head. "Not now but maybe in the past." He said in a really assuring voice. "I am pretty sure that something had happened to you in the past, something that made you... you." He sighed. "Did something bad really happen to you that..."

"Enough!" Miguel yelled, dropping his hands furiously. His heart was pounding and his breaths were really harsh. He somehow hated Christian for being so nosy. He hated him so much. "You don't have to ask me stupid questions that are really ridiculous. I wasn't abused because no man can do that to me, do you understand?"

"Well! I was just..."

"You don't have to because it's none of your concern." Miguel bellowed.

"Look! I am sorry if..."

"Why are you so curious about my past, uh? Are you still looking into my life and..."

"Look! I am really sorry." Christian sighed, looking into Miguel's eyes. "Yes! It's true... It's true that ever since I met..." He got a little closer, feeling his heart racing. "...all I can do is wonder about your past." He drew near Miguel's trembling body. "I just wanna know who the real man hiding behind this icy cold Miguel Powers or La don is."

Miguel chuckled bitterly. He couldn't believe the nerves of the man. "You have got it all wrong. I don't need anyone to save."
