Click hereWill reached up and removed the gag from Melinda's mouth. Before he could begin his apology she started yelling: "You pathetic wimp! Is that all you've got? I lied, cheated, stomped all over our vows and all you can manage is a tiny tap? What a loser!"
He knew she was baiting him. She wanted him to punish her, to even the score. He had no desire for revenge -- but another motive, another emotion took hold of him. He loved her, she knew it, and he knew what she wanted.
Punctuating each word with as hard a blow to her ass or thigh as he could manage, he snarled "Shut. The. Fuck. Up. You. God. Damned. Whore!" He climbed off, dropped his trousers, climbed on top and fucked her fast and hard. Each thrust into her sore bottom sent a stab of pain through her. She screamed, moaned and then convulsed as an orgasm ripped her to shreds. He emptied himself into her.
When he finished he untied her hands and climbed off. She gingerly sat up, said "Thank you, lover boy," and kissed his cheek. He kissed her lips gently and she kissed him back hard, broke away, stood up and put her clothes back on. Then she turned and walked away. This time he let her go. And he swore silently to himself he would never strike another woman.
You do realize that most BTB "posse" don't care about Will (cheating victim) desiring revenge per se, and more to do with Karma. The guilty should be punished. You as an author can easily set it up so the cheater gets punished OUTSIDE of victim's control; even if you somehow feel that the victim shouldn't do anything active in revenge. The reason the "posse" is displeased is because you let the criminal get away with the crime. The best BTB stories, the burning is far more karmic, and self-inflicted.
Thanks, glad you ultimately enjoyed the story. I agree #2 belongs in Loving Wives but my one experience with the Burn The Bitch posse there did not incline me to test those waters again, especially when Will let go of his desire for revenge.
Interesting set! First part, I should have liked for most part but two big points made me far less happy with it than it deserved.

The second part (this one) was the opposite - I usually dislike LW stories (which this was, let's be honest) with zero revenge, but this one was set up so well in terms of both lessened impact on the husband AND his "best revenge is living well" in third part, my dislike was much lower than expected.

And the third part was just magical, good romance AND parental relationship, with basically nothing to dislike about it. Can't wait to see how #4 goes.
On it's own, no, certainly not a successful romance. Part one was a romantic tragedy, a la 'Love Story'; part two was a different sort of tragedy. Of course, these set the stage for the rest of the story. I considered releasing it as a single entry under Romance or Novella but settled on a multi-part Romance.
