This is a well crafted start. I am wanting to read more.

Some small criticisms :

-His parents just shrugged and accepted a baby so unlike them? Ok...... Seems off

-His wolf is 9 feet tall. Really. 9 FEET TALL.

Praise:

-I like the detail setup. It paints a very comprehensive picture, but doesn't feel too,bogged down or boring.

-The dreams are intriguing. I wonder if the weird desert gods or the island people have anything to do with it.

This was quite an intruiging start, promising story. It has been quite some time since we had an interesting werewolf story. Please don't be one of those writers who leave the story after the first chapter.

Maybe you could have given us some hints of the dream to get us hooked.
