There were eight paying customers so the total income was aproximately $160,000. The four slaves were paid about $3,000 each, although a portion of the $500 recruitment bonus and the $1,000 prize need to be considered as direct costs. There were another 4 entertainers, and an unspecified number of cooks, servers, maids, etc and the capital cost or implicit rental cost for the facilities may be substantial. Also direct costs are transportation to and from the event, by air charter. Food, drink including what appears to be relatively expensive alcoholic beverages, clothing and costumes for all participants, perhaps these might be reuseable after laundry. Sheets, pool heating and maintenance (draining and refilling costs depend on local water and fuel pricing.) Various whips and clamps, enema supplies, buttplugs, croquet supplies and a wide variety of torture funiture. I suspect the margins on this business are not high after the expenses are paid or accrued. In part it depends on the cost of facilities, if owned or rented, local taxes, etc. There may be some bribes to pay, depending on the location and jurisdiction, so the authorities do not react with "Shock" if they are or become aware of the unconventional events engaged in at the manor.

Overhead for the recuitment of new employee participants may or may not be a significant item. Internet accounts are relatively inexpensive, but identifying who to consider as a recruit may or may not impact expenses. Certainly the attention of the CEO and several expensive restaurant meals raise the costs. Depending on how many weeklong events a new employee will take part in, and only one had been on four trips before, the allocated recruitment cost may be significant. Much more than one adventure a month would be a strain on the most masochistic employee. Perhaps each is an independent contractor, there is no indication of tax witholding or workers compensation. The IRS may be looking for social security taxes as well as income tax.

My initial take on the economics of this firm is a prediction that it is likely going out of business or will be looking for adventures less expensive to put on, or that cost its customers more, or have more paying customers per adventure. This does not have the economies of scale of a cruise ship, and cruise ships hire from countries with very low wages.

Top shelf! Far too rare to see a well written BDSM fantasy that acknowledges SSC/RACK and is not just degrading torture porn. Not everyone's fantasies are dark and seathing. Got enough dark and seathing in the real world.
