It's pretty clearly the author is an idiot

The resist movement ONLY came about because of the election of Donald Trump. And because his election represents a damaging threat to the existence of Law & Order Liberty and freedom in the country. if Mitt Romney had been elected or Jeb Bush there would be no resist movement. That's because they're not deranged and they don't show fascist tendencies

Wage Gap is Real ... How could it Not be?

What causes the wage Gap is the fact that women far more often than men take time off from work and become a part-time workers or full-time moms. As a result there is interuption in their professional development and therefore their income. This is only natural since most men do not period where they give up their job to become stay-at-home parents

the Feminist

Is the truest form of evil in human form, so when the next great war comes it will be between the Humans and the Feminist.

They drank the koolaid, but the women pale in comparison of those men that say they are feminists for they are the one we have to destroy first just to stay alive.

I see this as almost everyday. great tale.

Um... hm

You had a chance to tell a really good story. It's like you got to the confrontation, and then ... stopped. You had your say, and that was that. I guess if that's your point, then you did your job. You could have driven home your point if... the wife finished "her research" and wrote the paper that while liberating, some actions have consequences. That the academic world is NOT the real world, and while she may have gotten in touch with her sexuality, she lost touch with her morality and lost what she truly valued most - her family.

To quote your story, "My Women's Studies professor issued a challenge for us to take some concept that we had learned throughout the course of our studies, apply it to our real lives, and write a report on how it changed our perspectives of ourselves and society. I chose to write my report on female sexuality. What you saw, Gene, was nothing more than research required by my curriculum." I would have loved it if she finished the paper, acknowledging how her entitlement behavior costed her dearly. How did breaking her vows and falling for the liberal agenda change her perspective? It changed her family dynamic.

I shouldn't condemn you. This is your story, and you write it as you see fit. But you can tell a better story by showing "change". The only change written was the divorce, which was more or less glossed over. But did the wife's views change after that? Not once did she apologize, so did she continue with the "research"? Now that she's single, did she try dating some of those younger men - only to find that her behavior is the kind of girl guys fuck on the side, but don't actually date exclusively? Did the daughter's views of her mother change? Did the daughter's views of the liberal agenda change?

Anyway, enough of my ranting. I did give you three stars based on the premise and what you did deliver in the story.

More like a political statement

than a story. Not entertaining, not erotic.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 7 years ago
Bit of a chip on your shoulder, huh?

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I've read plenty of other stories with the same premise of the wife having a stupid hippy philosophy. The thing is...your story didn't really go anywhere. The story basically led up to the husband's outburst and that was it. Story ended. You could have just had the husband's rant by itself and gotten the same result.

Very good.

Very strange thing this self victimization.

So often losers feeling sorry for themselves.

Sorrily also found in some bright women.

As the hero in this story, I've come in contact

with (many) feminists. Some have been such

extremists, that silence is the only reaction

available.

A feminist slut I've never met. Doubt they exist.

But fun to read about.

Thank you writer for wonderful story!

A potpourri of valid points and indolent caricature

A couple nice scenes, a couple wretched ones ... a more motivated author would have done well to read Joseph Heller's Catch 22 , or keep it in house with cpete's satirical submissions , right here in Loving Wives, in order to keep the buffoons half credible.

A first rank literary rosarian strives to cultivate his garden of scenes and characters with equal consistency . dimaggio5 detracted from his worthy agenda by halfstepping characters into lazy cliches in a few crucial scenes. I sympathized with main character, but thought both he was short-handed by BOTH fictional wife and real life creator .

I'm hoping dimaggio5 builds on his clear-cut strengths and applies lessons from his premier story in next submission.

Law and Order

Harryin VA: the violent actions of the resist movement and it attempts to suppress free speech and different opinions from their own are the real threat to law and order They copy the actions of the NAZI party brown shirts. So there is your real threat to Law and order, liberty and freedom.

As to the alleged wage gap: actions have consequences. Unless a woman his raped her decision to have a kid is her choice , one of the consequences may be a hit on career progression . Similarly if a man were to take a leave of absence he would not expect to return to work on the same level as his peers who did not leave their employer or fellow employees hanging (who may have had to pick up his/her share of the work load ) Worse in the military were a pregnant service member is non-deployable for 9 months, possibly on light duty and then on maternity leave. Minus all the time off against a 48 month enlistment and she is virtually a welfare mom n uniform for what the tax payers get in return. Guess who gets stuck picking up her share of the work load (the military cannot hire a temp) including deployments while she has decided to be a mommy. Of course she will insist that she should be considered for promotion on a equal footing with her peers who were not unavailable for deployments or absent from duty due to personal choices they made.

I have always wondered about the feminist who chant their body their business but then in demand the ability to reach into their employers or the taxpayers pocket to cover the costs of what they do with it be it paying for contraception, abortions etc. Your body, your business, your responsibility for the consequences of what you do with it-to include the financial side.

The Patriarchy™ is keeping women out of the jobs they really want, like garbageperson, oil rig driller, Alaska fisherperson and road construction worker (non-flag-holding division). Sure, 95%+ of workplace deaths are men and we die seven years earlier than women, but that's because of...you guessed it...Patriarchy™.

In fact I do like the topic presented..

and how the husband handled the wife and her Ideas.. I am older than dirt and have seen too many cases as above. True the wife has her own brain and rest of her body and must be "true" to herself. When those Ideas now differ/change from her family's she need to make her ideas known to her family...

Agenda driven idiocy

So poorly executed as to amount to a caricature. There may well be women this stupid. There may be schools of feminist studies so blatantly moronic. They are not worth serious consideration and no one with a spark of intelligence gives them any credence.

On the other hand, there is certainly a dismissive mindset afflicting a large number of men out there. Witness some of the comments. I cannot imagine a husband and father who supports the wage gap experienced by women. Surely, a decision to have children is mutually reached between both parents. Only one, however, is affected by having a gap in their employment. I would think any decent husband and father would not, then, be in favor of the mother of his children suffering a wage or promotion deficit because of giving birth to his children.

That's not what this story was about. This was about a woman who lacked a functioning brain. It is implying that all women who do not conform to some manufactured norm, also lack a functioning brain. Oh, by the way, they also must be sluts.

Just a poorly executed shot across the bows of independent women. What was she doing out of the kitchen, after all. Going to school? The nerve! Only demented sluts and militant feminists do such things.

Wow...

...an unfortunately brutally honest expose of Feminist thinking and the Matriarchy we now live in (even included the ass-reaming the feminist hi-jacked family court gives guys).

To those that think this is a caricature, speak to a man who used to work in family court. It's becoming more and more detrimental to even date women let alone be stupid enough to marry one these days.

Divorce rates are so low now that Family Court, to keep getting their federal grants, pursue false accusations of battery and rape regardless of evidence with gusto. The last figure I read was 60% of prosecuted rape cases are literally made-up by women to punish the guy; sometimes for something as little as literally calling her a "cunt".

elHosedelHosedalmost 7 years ago
correction...

... "divorce rates" should have been "marriage rates", which is suppose does in turn reflect into lower divorce rates later. Ultimately divorce rates is what the Family Court would care about in terms of federal grant money.

swingerjoeswingerjoealmost 7 years ago
The "wage gap"

Of course there is a wage gap between men and women. But it has absolutely nothing to do with sexism -- and that is where feminism veers off the rails. Women work fewer hours than men. They choose to work in lower-paying industries. And yes, they often take time off from the workforce to raise a family. There is nothing at all wrong with these choices. These are noble choices. Yet, we're led to believe by one politician after another that there is something sinister at work behind the scenes keeping women down. It's complete nonsense, and anyone with half a functioning brain recognizes that.

Not a bad story. interesting idea. execution county use some work. the characters were stilted and formulaic. the protagonist was without sin and preachy. the daughter and wife were clueless.

The questions are...

The questions are: 1st - why in hell did he married a woman so stupid? Or did he just found out she was stupid after all the married years? 2nd - After all she has done, what judge would have given her custody of their daughter? But not a bad story...2*

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 7 years ago
Too bad

I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit although I would have appreciated it a little more if the husband had used his wife's activities as a means of screwing her over - I can't help but think the wife practicing unprotected sex with a multitude of partners risking her spouse's health and exposure to disease would ever be looked upon favorably in a court. Plus, there is the "slut-shaming" aspect of exposure to friends and family who don't share the wife's "enlightened" views. You perfectly captured the diatribes of our many SJW perfectly and that was delightful. When the daughter suddenly throws herself at her father he should have asserted some type of Prima Nocta right over the girl plowing into her in front of the wife. Women often make the mistake in this country, they are not more powerful than men, we only let them think that.

Do you know why divorce is so expensive for men?

Because its worth it.

The only issue i have is that by forcing her out of the van with the threat of physical violence, she could have called the cops to report a car jacking or even assault and now he is in prison, broke and jobless.

dumb agenda lit

As written, of course this guy should get a divorce. Of course, the main character earned every penny in life. And of course the wife is a vile person. All of that makes sense. What doesn't is the Fox News BS at the end of the story.

Want to know what proves that there is a wage gap? Facts. The author saying that it isn't so is just an exercise in burying heads in the sand.

Want to know what proves rape culture? Fox News. It finally caught up with Ailes and O'Reilly. Or is the argument that nothing happened there either?

So, as a story about a hardworking man destroyed by a terrible wife, this works. As a snapshot of what actually happens across America, this is delusional.

Wage Gap

There IS a wage gap, and at least SOME of it IS caused by sexism.

But the 67 cents on the dollar is comparing ALL women to ALL men, not accounting for different professions and seniority gaps due to maternity leave,

While it may not be fair in an absolute sense for a woman to be penalized for having children, it's a fact of life that if a man and a woman start at the same time, and seven years later the woman has taken a year of maternity leave, he now has seven years experience and she has six. All other things being equal he' going to be making more. I'm not smart enough to have a solution that's fair to everybody, my main point is that I'm SURE that THEIR wage gap isn't 67 cents on the dollar!

I am EQUALLY sure that if you take all women and all men doing similar jobs, with similar experience and seniority that there WILL be a wage gap, but still smaller than the 67 cents on the dollar.

Feminists want to be treated as social and intellectual equals to men.

I have no argument with that goal. Pulling trains in the back of a minivan is hardly an indicator that a woman is a feminist. The proper term would be slut. There is a huge difference in terms. You cannot strive to be an intellectual equal by doing something incredibly stupid. Gang bangs in cars invite disease, danger, theft, violence, humiliation, and possible incarceration. That is not a goal of feminists. Ergo, this wife was not a feminist, but rather a plain old fashioned slut. That's how I see it.

Hay Fox Hater, bull shit!

There is not such thing as a rape culture here. Listen and listen good. Rape cultures do not punish rape in ANY WAY. You want a rape culture? Go to Mexico, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, India, etc. The very fact that Fox let O'Reilly and Aiels go for ALLEGATIONS of sexual harassment show that not only is there no rape culture here they show there is no masculine culture her either because they were not even allowed to defend themselves. Those were political moves by management who is now decidedly liberal since the old man is bowing out.

I also notice that you conveniently did not mention Bill Clinton who was actually accused of raping a woman in the oval office as well as while Governor of Arkansas. But hay, who cares right after all Clinton was a Demoncrat and although they were women they must have been asking for it right?

It had potenial

Sorry but you lost it when you started on the the wage gap, rape culture, glass ceiling, etc. The truth is these things are real and make a demonstratable impact on not only women's lives but men's too. White male privilege does exist. Now back to the story, you had potential here to confront misused feminism. Cheating wives often hide behind this concept to justifiy thier cheating. The story should not have been how feminism is bad but how it was badly misused. obivouulsy the wife had these thoughts and urges prior to taking the gender class. In her readings and lectures she found the information she could corrupt to justify her beliefs and thus allow her to do her actions. Which if this was reseach for her class she had one hell of a large sample for a social experiment. If I could break down your score you'd get 5s for potential and writing, but your concepts bring it down. It's like a research paper you didn't do the research for.

I'm a bit confused, was she trying to get a degree in women's studies?

"Shelly figured that it was time for her to finish her degree and join the workforce."

You never mentioned what kind of job she was hoping to land after she earned her degree or what she was majoring in. I think I'm on solid ground here in assuming she wasn't majoring in electrical or chemical engineering since her study group wasn't about studying... So what kind of job was she hoping to land after graduation?

There is no wage gap with people that actually work for a living. Those are the only people that matter. No one gives a rats ass about the whiny starlets that made ten million instead twenty million for playing dress up for six weeks or the CEO that was only given two million a year in salary with eight million in stock options. They'll just have to find a way to live with gold-plated dinnerware and non-heated toilet seats.

On the story, I'm surprised you skipped the gender minefield but not surprised at the blatant sexism you've brought out of your readers with the MRA talking points.

Some good, some not so much

Yes, this is really an excuse to vent a Right Wing position. Some of the rant I agree with, and some not. So what? Authors have been using stories to vent since Dante and Jonathon Swift. The problems here are that this is too obvious, that there isn't enough character depth to support it, and there is too much telling and not enough showing, especially at the end.

First the husband. Do you really think that a man in this situation is going to just rant about how Leftist Feminism is crap, and leave it at that? How about he might ask if any of that justifies breaking her vows? Cheating? Hiding it from him? Disregarding his feelings? Lying to him? He would be all about how she's violated their relationship and her promises. Asking her if she's had herself tested for disease. Asking if she ever thought about infecting him with whatever half the campus has.

Second, the wife is portrayed as a sociopath. She's completely unable to empathize with her husband's feelings or understand what she's done. Typical for this type of story, and it's one of the huge flaws in this type of writing. College can make you loopy, but it won't take away a person's humanity. So, the only other option is that she was always a sociopath, and husband never noticed it before, and that isn't real. You have her begging him to stay at the end, but why? That needed to be shown instead of told.

Third, the sudden change of the daughter when he says he's leaving is too abrupt. Especially so because he hasn't told either of them how the cheating has hurt and destroyed the marriage.

BobNbobbiBobNbobbialmost 7 years ago
Divorced Man Speak

Not so much a story as a rant, this piece. Is there some truth inside the rant? Of course there is some, but the truth here is not one of the our gospels. One of Joltin' Joe's unsupported assertions is completely off base though, and that is the gender pay gap issue. Men and women holding down similar jobs do not get equal treatment as far as pay is concerned. I know because I have been a senior manager in past times and have done salary reviews. That is not to say that some women are not treated equally, or even better than, male counterparts. In some cases they are, On the whole though the salary gap is real. There are some valid reasons, but some of the basis is just gender.

I didn't rate this particularly high, not because I disagree with the sentiment, but because I find it inappropriate for a Loving Wives story. As I said at the start this is not a story.

The system doesn't care who cheats .

A wife of 10-20years is entitled to half your estate. If she cheats ,you better take the time to re rout your assets if you donot want to pay up. Both parties today need a pre nup that states if the other party cheats the split changes to 60-40 or whatever . I think all marriages should have a 5 year look . If either party wants outs they leave with whatever they came into the marriage with. Children would change all that. The moral here is wait 5 year before having a family ,the courts have to protect the child bearer. Cheating today still favors the male . Males for the most part think with there dick and have a more aggressive sex drive. And both cheat for different reasons. It sad when kids are involved .women are mostly the loser they have kids to raise while the men are free to do there thing.

HDK expressed my feelings

What is a feminist? I believe it’s someone who believes in equal rights and opportunities for women.

A slut is something entirely different. A slut is a sexually promiscuous woman.

The two may reside in the same body, but there is no necessary correlation. This woman, as HDK said, was not a feminist, but a lunatic slut. Feminists do not agitate for the right to do gangbangs or pull trains; all sluts already have that right, but lobby for equal pay for equal work, employment and advancement opportunities, and equal treatment under the law. Laudable goals. There are some imbecilic women who give feminists a bad name, just as there are some men who give that sex a bad name (our gracious “femi-nazi” commentator, for example. What a fresh take that is!). Trying to paint all people who believe in equal rights and opportunities for women as lunatic sluts is… disturbing and weak. At least argue the real merits, as some commentators have done, instead of beating the stuffing out of scarecrows.

Hmm

There is a reason that I at least try to eschew politics in my stories and my comments.

It opens the doors to a lot of stupidity on all sides.

If you want your side to have it's say, then you have to give the same to the other side. Why is this so hard to understand? Are you rioting totalitarians like they have at Berkeley these days? Are you afraid of hearing the other side?

So pro Feminists can write stories. Anti-Feminists can write stories. Monogamists can write stories and Swinger Joe can write stories. Get over yourselves. But go ahead and comment. But make a case and not just assert stuff, like, alas, happened in this story.

As I promised LSD, I will try to be more positive in my comments. This story...had a lot of potential. Only a moron would not notice that the social, fiscal, legal and other dynamics of marriage have wildly changed and the author ATTEMPTED to touch on them. Not deftly. But he tried.

So I will give this a three. Not a horrible score, but it needed a bit more to make the story more interesting. "Lecture" stories tend to score poorer than entertainment stories because of the political split in the audience.

Feminism

Blackrandi1958's definition of feminism is antiquated. If it simply meant equality, everyone would be a feminist. (Well, most people.) Modern-day feminism has nothing to do with equality. It is all about creating victimhood where it doesn't exist. These pervasive myths about "wage gaps" and "rape culture" are pure nonsense created for the sole purpose of making women feel as though they are victims. When you're a victim, whatever goes wrong in your life isn't your fault. As this story stated, it's an excuse to fail.

The same is true for all the mythological grievances in the black community. Instead of taking responsibility for their own decisions and actions, an entire industry (and political bloc) has been created to blame all of the problems of modern-day black Americans on mythological bogeymen. It's become so difficult to find real genuine racism in this day and age that people are now forced to stage phony incidents of racism just to keep the narrative alive.

It's so much easier to blame your problems on something beyond your control. I think that's the underlying message of this story. Shelly wanted to be a slut, and used feminism as an excuse to act like one.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 7 years ago
A laudable sentiment, but clumsily executed. An opportunity missed.

I understand the anger at finding his wife acting like a slut, but you would think after their healthy marriage and successful parenting, he might want to know why his wife went off the rails, and maybe even see if she needs help. I believe the "In sickness and in health" clause needed to be considered, as the wife's behavior definitely seemed mentally dysfunctional.

Taking her van and her clothes and leaving her stranded is several forms of assault and theft, and maybe reflects his true nature and attitude toward his wife and marriage. You could have achieved the exact same outcome, but with much more credibility, if you had peacefully carried their marriage into separation and counseling, where she could then spout her mindless drivel and he could accurately rebut her false ideas and assert his own ideas about integrity and fidelity. The wife did not appear to be doing gang bangs for simple sexual pleasure, there appeared to be no romance or desire to replace her husband, no intent of spite or humiliation, and her almost clinical mindless approach to the sex just reinforces the probability that the wife is suffering some mental/emotional breakdown. She deserved the chance to explain, and maybe sue for forgiveness and understanding. He can still kick her to the curb, while maintaining the moral and ethical high ground. And who knows, they might just find that the wife has a treatable mental illness. A true loving husband would wait to see what could be salvaged, at least for each of them as individuals if not as continuing husband and wife.

I liked the effort, and the much needed balance against the femi-nazis fanatics, I just wish you had done it with more thought and compassion. The wife may deserve his scorn, but she definitely deserves our pity. If she really believes the feminist propaganda portrayed in the story, then she got fucked a lot worse than in the van.

Thanks for the effort and the thought provoking. And thanks for not being afraid to allow anonymous comments.

This must be Opposite Day!

Sbrooks was applauding a "satire" of black people earlier this week. Now he's expressing righteous indignation about a "satire" of feminists. (At least, that's how I read this story.)

Just look at some of the comments here! Since when does any LW reader care about a cheating whore's motivation for cheating or her mental well-being?

Since when do cheaters "deserve a chance to explain?"

Since when are stories written by angry women-haters not applauded here?

Did I stumble into an alternate dimension??

It seems that it's perfectly acceptable (commendable, even) to portray wives as evil, soulless, mindless, moronic sluts who commit adultery for no reason whatsoever...so long as the wife isn't a feminist. Who knew they were a protected group here? I learn something new every day in LW!

@ sbrooks: Of course racism and sexism and every other "ism" exists to some small degree. Yet it seems that the rallying cry of the feminist movement is that sexism is the PRIMARY reason why they make less money than men, when everyone knows what a ridiculous assertion that is.

Let's put it this way: if women really do earn 67 cents on a dollar for working the same job as a man -- or, hell, even 99 cents! -- any employer would have to be an absolute idiot to hire a man. Why pay someone $1.00 to do a job when 99 cents will suffice? Hell, just think of all the money you'd save by hiring an all-female workforce!

I am sure this pleases people who think Trump is the cats meow, but it is nothing more than a fox news political rant on 'feminazis' and the like, and how being educated is somehow an evil. I am not fond of some of the idiocy that passes for feminist thought, for example with divorce laws feminists have it both ways (relying on outdated notions of the wife as helpless or necessarily the better parent) ,but that doesn't mean all if it is wrong. Put it this way, studies of women factoring out gaps in careers and such (these days most working moms don't take much time off) ,and in the same position with same level of skill women make less.Harvard business journal did a study of female executives and their compensation is typically 20-40% less than male ceo' s. As far as rewarding everyone, that is one of those faux news memes, such thjngs, exist but it doesn't work like that at colleges, not even true most places. My son played little league and the winning team got trophies, and so forth.

I don't mind outrageous brb stories and the like, but this one is nothing more than dingbat ranting with a thin gruel of brb story wrapped around

And just as an epilog, for those claiming women are treated equally and so forth ,take a look at the hundreds of millions fox news has had to pay out over women being harassed or sexually propositioned, tells a lot about how the anti feminist ranters think about women that the chief ranter against feminists allowed this stuff to go on.

Interesting how this brings out debate

1. There is no wage gap attributable to discrimination. In any specific instances such is discovered the employer loses the lawsuit - a sex discrimination suit is more easily won today than a race case. Who knows who will always tilt every workplace, so if you remove yourself from that space, you will be passed by those who do not.

2. Ugly Feminism as described in this story is taught on campus everyday. (My shorthand for victim Feminism, women's studies, et cet).

3. Check out "Men on Strike", Dr Helen Smith. We have a feminized society, men are devalued- I worry more for my son, than my three daughters.

@ njlauren

If you're going to cite a study from a far-left research organization to prove your point, at least get the numbers right. That Harvard study you referenced found that women earn 97 cents on the dollar across the board, and 94 cents when comparing executive salaries. This is a far cry from the "67 cents" bullshit our politicians and feminists like to quote.

Why is this even considered a "political" issue? What is "political" about salary? Why is it "right wing" to believe that there isn't a subversive subculture in modern-day America that encourages rape? Such nonsense.

One more point: by your reasoning, because some Catholic schoolboys were abused by their priests, then all Catholic men are victims of abuse. Again: absurd.

Pretty good!

This is not satire or social commentary at the level of Jonathan Swift or John Steinbeck, but for an amateur sex story site I think this story makes its points quite well. Sure, leaving his wife naked in a college parking lot was over the top, as was the daughter's defense of her mother's incredible behavior, but this is SATIRE, am I right? Could a professional writer done a better job? Sure, but dimaggio5 is more than earning his pay.

@swingerjoe

First, I believe I stated that I didn't buy the 67 cent figure, that women in similar jobs with similar skills and experience make much closer to men, if not the same or even more.

But I take issue with your statement that women CHOOSE lower paying jobs! You make it sound like women are saying "Nurse or waitress. Hmm, tough choice." There are many reasons why people end up where they do, choice might very well be one of them, but I doubt the main one.

And while I'm sure that there are FemiNazis who blame everything on sexism, MOST feminists simply want equal treatment.

@ sbrooks

If nothing else, this story sparked an interesting discussion!

Sbrooks, I don't need to SAY that women choose less lucrative careers. Just look at the cold, hard, evidence! Head to your nearest college this spring for its graduation ceremony and compare the number of female grads with "STEM" majors to the numbers with liberal arts degrees. It's not even close.

Not only do men far outnumber women in the higher-paying engineering and technical fields, but men also choose the more dangerous careers (mining, oil rigs, deep-sea fishing, trucking, etc.) that tend to pay better because of the added risk.

I mean...all of this should be blatantly obvious!

Clash of the extremist stereotypes

A misogynistic husband in total denial about the realities women face in our (mostly) male dominated society and a wife who reacts to it by becoming a radical feminist who exaggerates those inequalities and blames all men for them. They're each better off without the other.

The real loser is the daughter, who by the end of the story still doesn't seem to have realized that neither of her parents has any idea WTF they're talking about.

Hidden Agenda?

This Author is using this story to push that sorry lie that there is: " NO white privilege", and specifically "No white male privilege" in the world. He is using this story as a platform for the "perceived" injury to the older white male, to whine from. Yeah right, people are just not taking their "S" anymore. F.Y.I. old white feminist are just as hateful, prejudice, and biased as middle aged and old white men. I see no difference between the two.

sbrooks103xsbrooks103xalmost 7 years ago
@swingerjoe

Men outnumber women in dangerous jobs primarily due to the fact that men tend to have greater physical strength than women. You won't find many weaker men in those fields either.

As far as STEM goes, I'll wager that girls are still steered away from those in middle and high school.

I also notice that you didn't respond to my rebuttal of your accusation of hypocrisy in my treatment of the two "satires." In any case, as a good liberal, I wouldn't have defended "Life's a Bitch" if I thought it was seriously stereotyping black men!

Working class whites are no more privileged than working class minoritys.

The rich do take care of themselves- no matter what race.

Women are privileged- current "third wave" feminism is not about equality - it's about power politics.

"This is a ridiculous caricature of a men's rights depiction of feminism pandering to small men. It is therefore met with lots of praise!"

If you are referring to the initial waves of feminism you are correct. But the current wave is not looking for equality, it is looking for dominance. Most of tbe terms and dialog from the females in this story could have easily been straight copied from various actual quotes and ideology found on known feminism sites/supporters. There is a reason why marriage rates are at a generational low and it is because men are starting to realize that women see them as a tool to get ahead.

I wonder now that they are divorced is she still fucking the college kids? How about the daughter having her cunt mother's influence> Damn. Such a rotten situation I cannot even rate this tale. First the wage gap. The relevant comparison is one of people in precisely the same professions. It is hard to eliminate all the confounding features in such studies but I have never seen one which failed to identify a wage gap.

Second the rape culture. Do none of you clowns actually read the stories on this site? One after another, night after night, week after week, a parade of drivel objectifying women and attempting to legitimise the most appalling treatment of them.

If this was satire, if failed

Sounds more like the ranting of some angry little woman hater. Feminist? Evidently, there are a lot of people who don't have a clue what that means. Nothing to do with being a gangbang whore. There are women who hate men and claim to be feminists. They aren't. They are the counterparts of the angry men who make comments here and hate women. Anonymous, Swinger Joe, etc.

I "hate women" because I believe that there is no significant wage gap between men and women? Or because I believe the notion of a "rape culture" is idiotic? Too funny.

@sbrooks - middle school favors females, as does the entire education establishment

Having 3 daughters, the youngest in middle school now, I can outright guarantee that they were favored by their teachers over their male counterparts. The only bullying my family experienced was against my eldest, a son, by his teachers. My son is an engineering major, my eldest daughter a business major, the daughter still in HS intends to go into veterinary. Yes, socialization does drive education choice, but more from the family. There is not an education conspiracy to keep women down.

I didn't say ANYTHING about favoritism. I was talking about my belief that girls are steered away from STEM subjects. I may be wrong. If so, I'm sure I will be corrected!

swingerjoeswingerjoealmost 7 years ago
@ sbrooks

It doesn't matter why women generally steer away from STEM studies. All that matters is that they do, and that partially explains the discrepancy in income. It has nothing to do with sexism, "the patriarchy", or any of the other garbage spouted by the modern-day feminist movement.

Frankly, all of this talk about female oppression is several decades removed from reality, Women are now graduating with college degrees far more often than men. The unemployment rate among women between 16-25 years of age is lower than men. Women aged 25 and below earn MORE than men.

If we truly have a "gender crisis" of any kind in this country, it's a crisis of young men who are choosing a life of dependency (either via government or living with their parents into their thirties), unemployment, and sloth.

HankWTullamoreHankWTullamorealmost 7 years ago

Gonna Try This ONE More Time!

I'm not talking about who's oppressed, and I agree that the 67 cent wage gap is fiction.

But if there is ANY wage gap between men and women in similar jobs, with similar education and experience, then what IS causing it if not sexism?

swingerjoeswingerjoealmost 7 years ago
@ sbrooks

Numerous studies, including the Harvard study cited earlier, show that there is a negligible difference (around 2%) between the salaries of men and women who work the same jobs with the same level of experience. There are several ways to explain how this barely-perceptible difference may have come to be:

-- One theory from the Harvard study is that women ask for less money than men, or are less aggressive in salary/increase negotiations.

-- Just because two people do the same job with the same experience doesn't mean they're equally good at what they do. I'm sure that you've worked alongside many people throughout your career who worked similar jobs, with similar experience, who were completely inept. It happens. Some people excel more than others.

-- Because men are expected to be the providers for their families, they generally have more career ambition and work harder. (I said "generally." Don't get all upset.)

-- Other factors completely unrelated to gender.

For the sake of argument, let's say you're right, and that 2-3% difference is due entirely (or in large part) to sexism. What do we do about it? We already have laws on the books that prohibit an employer from discriminating against women. So what next? Should our government force privately-owned companies to pay certain wages to certain workers regardless of merit? At that point, we would be dancing incredibly close to Fascism. I doubt any of us want that.

So, if nothing can be done about it, if the difference is negligible and easily explained by factors unrelated to sexism, then why did Obama and Hillary repeat their "67 cents" lie over and over again?

Simple answer: because dividing people into subgroups based on gender, ethnicity, income, sexual preference, etc., and then convincing each group that you are fighting for them, and that your opponents all secretly hate them and want to oppress them, is an incredibly effective political strategy.

And that's what this is all about: creating a phony victim class and demonizing anyone who dares to question the narrative that created these phony victims. Just take a look at the demonization in these comments. I question the wage gap, therefore I must hate women. Like I said, it's incredibly effective.

LevDLevDalmost 7 years ago
Swingerjo

"I question the wage gap, therefore I must hate women. Like I said, it's incredibly effective." Is that any worse than your comment that the unemployed are unemployed because they choose to be, or those who move in with their parents out of economic necessity, are doing so because of slothfulness?

As far as "government assistance", I assume you're talking about unemployment insurance and old age pension. You might want to read some history, about what economic life was for most working class people prior to the New Deal. A good start would be "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair.

The author of this story set up the adultery scene, simply as a vehicle to go on a political rant, that would be more appropriate for websites such as "Stormfront" or some Tea Party type of group. This story has no place on this site.

Looking at some of the comments, my theory that in order to be a conservative, one must be a Sociopath has been validated.
