Nurses, nurses, all my favorite verses
Are all about nurses.

You take them bruises, aches, pains, and cuts
But facing their cure you ask if they’re nuts.

She shows you a needle to take some blood.
First thing happens … your bladder will flood.

She comes to re-bandage your gaping gash
But as tape pulls skin your teeth begin to gnash.

She bathes your feverish head with water so cool
But you just ogle her cleavage and let your mouth drool.

She’ll change your bed and wipe your tail
While for thanks all you give her is hell.

Overworked, understaffed, seldom well-paid,
Yet all we think about is whether she can be laid.

The next time you’re laid up and need a hand,
I’ll bet a nurse is first to respond all over this land.

So don’t wait … look for a nurse and give her a bow,
Your thanks and gratitude are little enough for now.
