Young Love

When I was twelve I lost a love,
Destiny guided by the stars above.
Together I thought we'd always be,
I could see us being married.

A first kiss, a beautiful occasion,
And then further experimentation.
Private walks hand in hand,
Gay love no longer banned.

Parting is such sweet sorrow,
I won't see him tomorrow.
Our love was not meant to be,
We would be shunned by family.

Separately we moved on,
Into the new dawn.
I will not forget him ever,
Someday we might get back together.
