The men eventually arrived home with the news that Burt had rung the owners of the house and told us that we would definitely own the property by early next week. They had agreed on a long term financial settlement at a low interest rate. Their lawyers were known by Des and they had offices close to the bank where Des and Ken worked.
They had all but finalised the deal on terms that we could easily afford. Now we could let Tony and his workmate know that the deal would definitely happen so that they could plan our alterations when we met them later on that evening.
