This was just as realistic as any other ending. At first I thought he may be a wimp who would follow her blindly, that was not the case. He was inexperienced in college, but he learned and used the information to his benefit. Anyone can be blindsided as he found out. I loved the way he walked away from Charley. Any decent looking man should not have a problem getting laid the way things are now. I guess fucking Raj's wife was another way of healing, I have no problem with that. Some will probably say that the neighbor and the wife would have called the police immediately. You have shown that it doesn't always happen. She DID FEEL threatened and let it drop, and he decided it wasn't worth the trouble. The truth is that most people these days do not want to get involved in the problems of someone they don't know. As for the congressman you mentioned, maybe he will resign and give the country and his office a little dignity back. It would be a minuscule step in the right direction. Good story.

I can't understand why someone would marry such a person in the first place, so I couldn't really get into the story.

Samantha seemed (and turned out to be) so untrustworthy and holding to double standards, why would anyone think "I want to spend the rest of my life with her"?

can understand the stupidity of this guy. Plenty of moronic commenters will decry his idiocy in marrying her but those are simply folks who have never been head over heels in love. Some things can only be understood by being there. Case in point: plenty of tools want to blab about what they would do in a firefight in Afghanistan but for those who've experienced it the reality so far outweighs their comments that it makes it near impossible to address them other than by just saying "unless you've been there, you can't understand."

This story exemplifies the feeling of loving someone so much that in spite of reason and common sense a person thinks the object of their affection either does not have the obvious character flaw or will change their personality when married. This guy got the wake up call finally and it didn't cost him his house and savings; only some pride.

It was never stated that she was the campus whore and I know you didn't mean that. He did not chase her. He was experimenting with lopsided tits among other things during that time. I would not have married her either, but that doesn't matter. In his mind he thought that they could be happy going forward. The situation seems unresolved, like you wanted to make something more out of it but couldn't figure out how to use it. <br><br>

I ask, why, doubting? You'd have to be pretty sure to pop the big question, and Sam wasn't. Yes, love can be blind, but Sam wasn't "blind" enough to ignore Samantha's double standards and playing the field, so that cannot be it.

Maybe RHinSC is right, Sam just chose the wrong woman to marry. End of story.

Not your best work by any stretch, but not terrible either. I think you needed to put something in more substantial at the end with regards to some closure between Sam and Samantha than what you did.

but this could have been much better. The ending was rushed to the point that a reader would be in danger of whiplash, IMHO.

I'll offer a few comments, which aren't intended as criticism, but which perhaps may be useful.

1. I thought the character "Sam" was very well drawn, and believeable, and I related strongly to his actions. The violent acts would be foolish in real life, but are fine in fiction.

2. The one thing Sam did that I couldn't understand was, in the bar with Raj, why didn't he ask a few more questions, like "when was the first time you fucked her", "how many times have you and she had sex", and "to your knowledge, has she had sex with anyone besides you and Cole". I think a real husband under those circumstaces would have asked such questions.

3. The time scale of the story didn't make sense. What I mean is, apparently the entire story, from the time samantha told Sam about showering with men at work, commenting about how big Raj's dick was, and that Cole was coming, until the time of the party, took place within a couple of weeks. To me, it doesn't make sense that Samantha would tell her husband about the showers, etc., if she was already screwing around. Why risk making Sam suspcious and angry (as happened in the story) if she was already cheating, or even thinking about it? It would have made more sense if a substantial period of time, e.g., 6 months, had passed between her mentioning about the Bohemian shower conditions, and the first episode of cheating. This is one reason why Sam should have asked Raj how long he had been screwing Samantha, so he could understand whether she had been cheating even when she mentioned the showers, or if this really might have been a very new thing that perhaps only occurred because she was angry about Sam's recent actions.

4. Again, more information about Samantha's activities would have made the story seem more complete. This could have been obtained by Sam in many ways, and in fact, since the story was told in the third person, it would have even been possible to give the reader information that Sam never got. But perhaps the story was more realistic without answering all the questions.

Raj claims he wouldn't have screwed Samantha if he had known her husband would have objected, but Raj certainly should have known after the party, when Sam told him he didn't believe in cheating, and stormed out in a jealous rage after catching her with Cole. So why did Raj have sex with Samantha the last time? Sam should have demanded an answer to that question when they met in the bar.

Telling a really good story where none of the characters has a single redeeming quality is not an easy task. Both Sam and Samantha are flawed characters throughout the story from the first paragraph to the last. The two doctor sex toys for Samantha are not better. Neither of the two women foils for Sam are paragons of virtue; Charley has to go to college and get her degree in streetwalking???

Hey magma, I read your stories a couple of years back, and you are still good but I have to admit it's getting a bit tiring reading Loving Wives stories where people are naked and say it's normal and not sexy. Understandably, a whore is a poor choice for any serious relationship other than an occasional tryst with plenty of protection against STD. The characters were not well described and lacked depth and emotion. The story was written well but lacked content. Thank you for the effort.

The problem with the plot: He picked a loser from the get-go. It was clear that she was a selfish slut that thought she was the smartest person in the room. A fuck? maybe. Partner for life, never. If you want to go with this plot, you got to make his irrational decision understandable. The only way that works is if he is completely in love with her and marries her trying to overcome her shitty behavior and forces himself into denial. I have seen many people living in denial regarding their significant other. The trouble is the longer they are together the more they acquire as a couple the more difficult it is to separate and the more painful it becomes.

It would also be nice in a part 2 to detail what happened to Samantha after she fled from the house and after the divorce.

Well, for one thing, my wife worked in a hospital for 39 years. Hospitals are sometimes little peyton places, mostly the nurses fault. But the exposure of a female having to shower with the males because there aren't enough showers is pure bullshit. Hospitals have showers everywhere.

And most also have non fraternization policies and this would be a goldmine for a pissed off husband and a shark lawyer. So this story is not even a sensible story at all. But there are nurses that will come in your room at night and suck your dick real good. Been there and had it happen and the bitch knew my wife too.

That was fucking awful….poorly written….poorly plotted…..just terrible.
