"Don't keep me waiting any longer. What does it all mean?" Alex was looking over the prophecies.

"We will have the meeting with all the major players: Vampire counsel, Were Counsel, Witches Covens, and all other non-human groups. Loosely translated it says the Triadic Counsel will unite the groups and be a hierarchy that will rule over them. We'll be like a court over the other groups to handle disputes that are unresolved and enacting laws that rule everyone. 'The three triadic will rule with their three mates and three other members will be chosen for a chosen number of nine to rule as the Triadic Counsel. They will bring equality and justice to all non-human groups.' It will be like a merger uniting the groups but not taking them over. It is meant for peace and unity but will have to deal out justice to those who ignore the authority. "

"So our coming out is going to piss some people off and we need to convince them of the legitimacy of the whole thing? We're telling ancient people that we were chosen to rule over them." Alex said and then lit another cigarette.

Meridian hesitated to say the rest. "Yes, but we must also look at this logically. I will be the one addressing everyone to inform them. I will have to be convincing. I think I can convince them of the fairness of this. Our other concern is the possibility of one of us dying. This is part of the prophecy. 'Should one of the Triadic Counsel die their mate will continue to rule with a vote to be made to fill the position. When or if the mate finds a new mate that elected official will give up their position. They will be given a position of stature afterwards.' So it will be the same for you since you have no mate. You will rule with an elected official at your side until you get a mate." Meridian noticed Alex's eyes started to water.

"That's fine; we need a clause in there in case a member is ill and needs temporary relief." Alex took another drag off the cigarette.

"Good catch. Now here is where I'm not going to lie to you. We are not invincible, amazing but not invincible. Also, with you being single you're going to highly sought after. You will have security. I just want you to be aware. I have a feeling Drake will mate with Trinity before the meeting occurs. Also, we will eventually have to break it to them that we're all Queens and our mates are Kings. They are unaware of the island and the titles. Just as the prophecy said."

Alex finally spoke, "So you're just going to say 'Marcus honey, I forgot to tell you I decoded the prophecy and also found out I'm a Queen and that makes you a King and oh we'll be ruling over all the non-human counsels, covens and groups from around the world including the Vampire Counsel. I should have told you earlier but I was distracted.' Something like that?"

"Hell, I don't know. I've got to unite all of the factions of non-human groups from around the world and tell my mate that. No pressure. Oh and I'm still having premonitions of dying. No pressure. Speaking of that, what's wrong?" Meridian stared at Alex.

"It's just a bad fucking day." Alex said as she chain smoked. "We'll just elect someone to rule with me. Go ahead and up the security at the island." Alex got a worried look on her face.

"Already done," Meridian sighed. "Are we sure Drake doesn't know about Trinity being a Queen?"

"I've been paying attention and I haven't seen any indication he knows. I think we are past worrying about it."

"So tomorrow let's get everyone together to set up the timing for the meeting and details but leave off the whole higher court over all the non-human group part? Oh, we'll also leave off the Queen and King thing?" Meridian said while exhaling.

Alex looked at her, "We need this meeting sooner than later. It's going to be hard to not be distracted and not tell Marcus. Not to mention all the other shit he's dealt with. Assistant, rock star, assassin, engaged, attacked, almost killed, and then top it off with two sisters that are her missing triplets."

"Hey, I plead the fifth on the assassin thing, that's confidential." Meridian laughed. "Why don't we just plan it all out tomorrow and after dinner we'll spill the whole thing. Prophecies and all to the guys and get it out of the way. You know that you are not restricted to who you mate with?"

"I know. I have feelings for Logan but hell I get some light flirting back but that's it. Doesn't really fucking matter anyways." Alex grabbed them both a drink.

"I think your underestimating his interest. I think he's more worried about everything that needs to be done and putting his interest in you after that. Why does it not matter?" Meridian said before taking a drink.

"I just don't think he's interested. Who knows maybe some handsome werewolf will sweep me off my feet. We've been down here 45 minutes. We better head up or they'll send out search parties for you. I'm going to go work out for a while so you should head up to see Marcus." Alex said.

"Don't forget you're allergic to animals with fur so you'll need allergy shots for a werewolf." Meridian teased as they got in the elevator.

~~~~~~
Meridian headed back into the house and slipped into bed with Marcus.
"Hey sexy, right where you belong," Marcus said as he pulled her up to him. "Is everything ok with Alex? She seems angry and cold."
"She just said she was having a bad day. She'll talk if she wants to." Meridian said as she lightly scratched down Marcus's chest. "Wanna play?"
Marcus growled and pulled her closer.
~~~~~~

Alex changed into mini white shorts and a tank top. Maybe working out until she couldn't think would fix this frustration. She wrapped her cut and burnt hand and jumped up onto the balance beam.

As much as the pain hit every time she used her hand at least it distracted her. She didn't notice Logan walked in and was watching her. She went up to the punching bag and was hitting and kicking it for all she was worth. Instead of diffusing her anger it became worse until the bag caught fire.

Alex looked for the fire extinguisher as Logan walked in with it and put out the fire. Alex grabbed a table in the corner and threw it across the room before storming out of the building.

Logan hurried and followed her. "Alex, what's wrong?"

"I'm just having a bad day. A really fucking bad day!" Alex said before sitting on the lawn and realizing she left her cigarettes inside. She used Meridian's telepathic abilities to move them from inside the training room to her hand.

Logan just watched as she lit a cigarette. "I've never seen you smoke until now. It might help to talk about it."

"Talking won't help!" Alex snapped at Logan. "I'm sorry Logan I just need some space." She finished her cigarette and headed into the house.

Trinity had heard the conversation and it hit her like a ton of bricks. "Shit! I should have remembered."

"What's wrong? I know Alex has been in a bad mood." Drake hugged Trinity.

"Today is the anniversary of burying grandpa. It's the day we lost Meridian. It's the day that all of the weight of losing all of our family fell on Alex. They kept mentioning splitting us up. Today is the reminder of that and every year she gets in a horridly foul mood."

Drake hugged her, "I can understand why. You lost all your family in a short time and she took over as the big sister. Can I tell Logan? He's worried about her."

Trinity looked up at him, "Yes, I'll take the blame if she asks. Just hurry back."

"I'm not going anywhere, I'll tell him telepathically." Drake said as he telepathically told Logan what was going on.

~~~~~~
Meridian felt off, something wasn't right. She got up and went to the Library to see Alex drinking. She poured herself a drink.
"Ok, what's wrong? I know something is wrong." Meridian said as she looked at Alex. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks. Today was the anniversary of everything falling apart. "Fuck! You should have told me. I don't remember a lot of things. Damn Alex, I'm here." Meridian grabbed her and hugged her. "I didn't even think about you having to take care of Trinity and become the big sister with so much loss. I'm here now and everything will be fine. We'll make everything fine."
For the first time since her grandfather's funeral she mourned everything that happened. She started crying and Meridian held her. Trinity sensed it and came into the room and hugged her.
Trinity hugged her, "We're all together now. I know it doesn't fix the past but we're here now."
Logan stood outside the door letting them help their sister. Finally the crying calmed down and Alex hugged them both.
"I never thought I'd have us together again. It was just so much at one time." Alex started to calm down.
Meridian hugged her, "I know each of us had our own hell to deal with and at that age. We're together now. Logan you can come in."
"I didn't want to interrupt." Logan said as he looked at Alex. He picked Alex up off the floor where they were all at and held her. He gently stroked her hair until he heard her crying end.
Meridian whispered to him, "She's asleep. We'll help you get her into her bed."
"No, she'll stay with me. Don't give me that look. She needs someone with her." Logan said as he kissed the top of her head. "I'll be next to her if she needs me. I'll take care of her." Meridian and Trinity headed back to their rooms.
Logan effortlessly held her as he took her to his room and tucked her under the covers putting an arm around her waist.
For anyone confused, consider the Triadic Counsel like the Supreme Court.-Meridian
