I love the kind of moral spiral of this, the mind-controllers sinking into enslavement in the mind-control hierarchy, Serena's overeager committment to enslaving her friends ending with a karmic twist (though presumably, she'll carry on learning to enslave while she's a slave herself)-- whether the story were continued or not, the whole concept has a sort of emblematic brilliance. I discovered this one six or seven years ago, and I keep coming back to it because it's just so good! Serena's descent is so subtle, but that makes it even hotter, and even the brief descriptions of the classes are enough to get me going.

Fun read. I would have preferred if she was the one student or individual who he could not control. She would be immune to everything he tried. That would be a great story but possibly an even better series. Just a thought.
