It is unusual for an author to offer readers an alternative ending, and while both are well-written, this reviewer finds the first ending (admittedly too short) to be more in harmony with the fourth and final chapter. As a romance, the last thing either lover wants to hear about is some other girlfriend or a boyfriend. Five stars for the excellence of the plot and the writing.
