I don't usually ask for a story to continue when it is write as this is (finishing perfectly) but this could be a magically (not a pun) series. I feel that this is the CORRECT catagory for this story but if it continues (which I hope it does) then perhaps SciFi/Fantasy could place it better...not necessarily non-human. Great start. Use editors they are available, I think you missed a word. Otherwise hope this continues and will look for your writings again.
