Great story, with an interesting main character. Despite her travails I'm still hoping for a HEA (guess Im just a big softie).

Out of curiosity, in this world, what would the law say about a spouse who is placed in slavery? Would it suspend the marriage? Dissolve it? Would they legally remain married? And if the latter, would the free spouse still be required to obey any legal marriage obligations even though the spouse is not? In this case, she’s having sex technically against her will. In this world is infidelity criminal? And if so, could a free spouse be charged with the crime even though they cannot have contact with their enslaved spouse and thus no sexual relationship?

The reason for this inquiry is that it opens up other possibilities for dramatic changes and storytelling.
