But the redundancy of the word ‘I’ is perpetual throughout this piece. A 17-line paragraph beginning with the sentence ‘I looked down’ has that word sprinkled throughout it 26 times. That’s one and a half times per line that the word ‘I’ appears. That is like hearing a song where the only line in it is the chorus. Just something to consider.

From a contextual standpoint, I didn’t read this whole story. I stopped at the ‘I looked down’ paragraph, so I can’t speak on whether the entire plot line meshes with each character’s motives.
