As she opened her eyes again, she saw that she had clawed four red valleys into the flesh of his back, and that he had left hand-shaped bruises on both her buttocks. His breath was still rasping, but slowly quieted. Tentatively, she laid her head against his shoulder and was surprised to feel his hand move from his side to embrace her, holding her tightly against him.
"Good girl," she heard him murmur into her ear, "Good girl."
