Michael laughed harder, "Not if that father was fifteen years younger than you!"
"I doubt Jason is that much younger than me." David groaned, but he knew Michael was right. All his wealth paled in compare to how a father would see the relationship. If it was his daughter he would see a young girl giving up much of her life to an older man who would be ailing and holding her back only to make her a very young widow.
Michael only chuckled and pointed over to a few boats that were stopped to set up gear for trolling. David shook his head; he had a honey hole he wanted to set his special guests on.
In another thirty minutes they had stopped and set the rods and were casually trolling along. David would look back and watch Laura interact with her father. The two were close, and she certainly was a Daddy's girl. They were both smiling and having fun, and he kept remembering the joy on her face the day they had spent together fishing. How beautiful she had looked with all that happiness in her smile. His mind was quickly pulled from that wonderful memory when the first rod bent over and released. The fish were on!

fefe428over 11 years agoI'm glad to see that you're back and updating this story again!!! I'm thrilled to see that the last two updates have been rather indicative that David will be the one to win Laura's heart. While I truly enjoy stories that are plot line driven, I can't help but think that I would feel let down if she ended up with Jesse or alone for that matter. In this case, I really want to see Laura and David work through this rough patch and find a way to be together. I hope your next chapter is posted soon!!!

Anonymousover 11 years agoI LIKE build-up and certainly haven't lost interest. How interesting that her father saw that Jesse was into her...but that there is no spark on her end. I think Laura sees Jesse as the logical choice. They DO have a lot in common, and he is closer in age. But there have been sparks galore with David from the beginning. Can't wait to read more!
Anonymousover 11 years agoPlease don't be deterred by these curt comments, I'm anxiously awaiting all of your installments and I am very interested in how you decide to wrap this up. This has become much more than just a quick story to get off to, the character development has seduced me as well.
