Confusion darkened Willie's eyes as he looked up at him. He snapped his mouth shut, then said: "I don't want to hurt anyone."
He was at a loss to understand what was happening until he saw the way Tom was looking back at him. He saw triumph and contempt glittering in his eyes before they were hidden away from him with a blank look of steely professionalism. And then that grin again: sardonic, full of appetite and devoid of humour as the butterfly in his mind turned into a rabid bat. "In that case you're better staying out of it, because I intend to cause bloody mayhem."
