Friday black morning
awake
alone
battling the demons
Crouched on the slick saltillo tile
of my patio
silver-black storm clouds
roll furiously by
Pink silk nothing
Fluttering against my
bare thighs
Cool January rain
peppers my bare arms
and
my burning soul:
I hunger for you
Longing again for
Frigid ash-grey Pacific waves
and damp yellow sand
to chill my bare feet
until my bones ache
Far
far from my
wasted
desolate
desert town
No rest for the weary
(nor the lonely)
Not tonight
Miss that double-beat
your heart
pressed to mine
strong solid arms
encircling me
Safe harbor there
at too-long last
Soft hot whispers
love like honey
dripped into my ear
I hear your
Smile
Feel your
Heat
Your heart
Crave you like candy
or a drug

black storm fading
into copper desert dawn
The symmetry of grey clouds and water beside a wasted desert town-- I identify with this so much. Lovely poem! please keep them coming!
Distance, when hearts should be beating against each other through ephemeral skin.
