You have a way of taking something mundane and making it thoughtful, something to be considered. And I agree with friday that the warmth underlying the whole poem is really inviting.

simplicity is what I would call this poem. All the events are not grand or spectacular, and the poem is written in a voice of subtlety. I like.
very well thought out leading to the last stanza that ties it all up and says it all really
if you would be quite so happy to converse with Poet Guy as with, say, Angeline and her, well, girliness.
Poet Guy plays chess exceedingly badly, though. Perhaps that might compensate for his lacking external appeal.
Anyway, good poem. Poet Guy liked it.
