Breakdown in political partisanship,
Followed by the failure of rule of law.
The people now under martial law,
Countries capital striped and closed.

Darkness descends on the whole land,
Artificial light from forest one shall see.
Infirmed, weak and children will be first,
And many great armies will fall before it.

Casting aside what came before them,
They take all leaving only desolation.
Their leader a mighty warrior demigod,
Seeks vengeance on all who oppose him.

The cruel destroyers as they are called,
What is in their path stands no more.
The new laws enforced with brutality,
Leave people striped land and famine.

Despair goes where the warrior goes,
Mad crazed despot no regard to life.
Crucifixions for the ones who resist,
Or ones caught stealing for survival.

The days a great decline of humanity,
Property, politics, values, and religion.
Only one religion remains in the land,
All worship at the altar of a new God.

Destruction for who defend themselves,
Beaten, left to suffer, perish or enslaved.
Nothing but wasteland from sea to sea,
A country changed and without recourse.

A land that once overflowed in freedom,
Now, a despot rules enforcing law by fear.
All have a number, the number is his name,
Who can stands against the mighty armies.

Dystopian to say the least. But an incredible work. Imagination at its BEST.
