My Baby left me down in Albany
Left me down there on bended Knee
I didn’t see it coming, and I didn’t foresee
she had me in a contented frenzy

I was so blind I didn’t see
What it was that she wanted from me
She made me tremble weak at the knee
All I was feeling was ecstasy

Oh my baby left me, my baby left me down in Albany

More powerful than vitamin B
She opened my heart with her skeleton key
She didn’t care about fidelity
Didn’t care about propriety

She took all my money, she thought it was funny
I swear baby she tasted better than honey

Oh my baby left me, my baby left me down in Albany

She broke my heart she broke my back
She ran off with my uncle jack
She took my car, she smoked all my crack
Now they’re driving around in my Cadillac

She took me to hell then brought me back
Did Aunty Jenny in a late night payback
Uncle Jack says she’s a nymphomaniac
But all she gave me was a heart attack

Oh my baby left me, my baby left me down in Albany

Now Uncle Jack said he weren’t the first
The whole damn towns been quenching that thirst
Can’t stop thinking, maybe I’m cursed
Left me wondering if I’ll be reimbursed

Now she didn’t need to be coerced
All that time, thinking I was the first
I always thought she was the one
But all she really wanted was another one...

Oh my baby left me, my baby left me down in Albany

While I recovered from my heart attack
She was on her back with my Uncle Jack
I couldn’t work I got the sack
Now she’s even cheating on uncle jack

She doesn’t care has no Regrets
She stole my collection of Abba cassettes
Smoked all of my cigarettes
And all she left behind was a pile of debts

Oh my baby left me, my baby left me down in Albany

Which Albany? The capital of New York? The one in Georgia? Or the one in Oregon? There may even be more.

It sounds like a Country & Western song. If Albany is in Georgia, that's fine.

This is a pretty good Bob Dylan imitation! You've caught his tone well.

Love your stories. Your songwriting; not so much.
