long ago
in a place
far
far
far
away,
a little child
squats by a small pond,
watching
tiny fish
swimming around,
scoops one up
and falls in love
for the rest of their life.

fifty-two years later,
a stove-up
old person now,
they go online
to find
those same fish
for sale,
cheaply,
makes an order,
and falls in love
once more. . . . .

gambusias!
